AQUAJETS WINS 2021 LCM MINNESOTA STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Aquajets Swim Team captured the team titles in the AAA division of the 2021 14 & Under State Championships and the Senior State Championships, July 22-25, and July 29-August 1, respectively.
 
Sixty-eight Aquajets age group swimmers competed at the 14 & Under meet, and scored 3,458 points, more than 650 points ahead of second place. Aquajets swimmers winning Top 3 High Point awards include Minh Truong (3rd, 10 & under Boys), Jerry Lou (2nd, 11-12 Boys), Grace Rabb (1st, 13-14 Girls), Jiarui Xue, Henry Webb, and Drew Ploof (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 13-14 Boys).
 
Ploof, Xue, Webb, and Evan Witte also teamed up to set three new Minnesota state records in the 13-14 Boys 200 Free Relay, 200 Medley Relay, and 400 Medley Relay during the 14 & Under meet.
 
At the Senior State meet, Aquajets was represented by 73 swimmers, and scored 1,152 points, outdistancing second place by 524 points. Brecken Merkel tied for second place in the women’s High Point competition.
 
In the last event of the meet, the 400 Free Relay, the relay team of Ploof, Xue, Webb, and Witte took one more shot at the 13-14 Boys National Age Group Record for the event and shattered the previous record of 3:37.47 by more than a second, finishing in 3:36.01. It was a fun ending to two exciting weekends of fast swimming for Aquajets.
