Swim-A-Thon Event: Saturday November 21,
Edgewood Middle School
(Times and groups to be announced)

What is Swim-a-Thon?

A Swim-a-Thon is an in-pool fundraiser where participants earn money by swimming lengths of the pool. It’s a SUPER FUN event where swimmers combine their love of swimming while helping their swim club at the same time! Funds raised will help to support NSAC’s goal of running a high-quality club with superior programming and professional coaching at reasonable rates. The Swim-a-Thon is a 100% participation fundraiser and will be the KEY event for NSAC, as we look to finish 2020 successfully and move into 2021.

Fundraising Goal $25,000

Makos! We can do this if everyone gets involved and has fun! With the restrictions, the ability to offer volunteer opportunities has also been limited. To reach our goals and to offset for the inability to offer volunteer hour opportunities, each swimmer will be responsible for earning a minimum of $200 in Swim-a-Thon pledges.

As with the volunteer hour commitment, if a swimmer does not reach the pledge requirement, their account will be charged the difference up to the $200 minimum after the fundraiser has ended.

Safety First!

Swimmers can collect pledges from family, friends, neighbors, co-workers of Mom and Dad, businesses, etc., prior to swimming. Please ask for flat donation pledges, not pledge per lap. Parents, consider ways your swimmer can obtain pledges safely by phone, writing a letter or email, and by using their ‘Personal Team Unify fundraising web page’. If you do decide to go door-to-door, please consider wearing a mask and socially distance.

What will we do
at the Swim-A-Thon?

Athletes will swim, play games and eat! We’ll provide a safe environment that follows all CDC and Mounds View School District safety guidelines. Swim-a-Thon will take place in shifts with teams of swimmers spending a total of two hours at the Swim-a-Thon event.

• 30 minutes rotating through fun supervised games

• 60 minutes in the pool; each team of swimmers will have one hour to find out how far they can go!

• 30 minutes for a celebratory snack for each team to enjoy after they swim!
