Over the past few weeks the Northfield Swim Club has participated in five end of season Championship Meets.  Below are the re-caps for those meets.

Minnesota Achievement Championships (Farmington, MN)

We had a small group of four swimmers at this meet but they made a BIG impact at the meet.  Julia Feldhake, Lucy Graham, Ella Krupicka and Claire Ray combined for 90% best times and added five new Regional cuts.

Southern Alliance Conference Championships (Burnsville, MN)

We had a smaller group of two attend this meet but Ella Krupicka and Summer Moeller each swam three races and dropped time in all three giving a perfect 100% in time improvement!  They also had some considerable size drops as well.

Minnesota Regional Championships (Winona, MN)

We had 13 swimmers head down to Winona for the MRC meet.  The group combined to finish 3rd in the Single A Division and combined for 59% best times.  Having stand out meets were Liv Fossum, Lucy Graham, Ryan Malecha, and Ella Palmquist.  Liv finished a near perfect 6/7 in her races.  Lucy was a solid 5/7.  Ryan dropped in all seven of his races.  Ella was also perfect dropping in the six races she competed in.

There was one team record set at the meet.  Everett Olson set the team record for the 11-12 boys 400 IM with a time of 6:37.31.  The record was previously vacant.

Finishing top 10 in Hi Point scoring included Paige Steenblock (9th for 13-14 girls), Liv Fossum (10th for 15-16 girls), Ryan Malecha (tied for 3rd for 15-16 boys), Ella Palmquist (6th for 17&Over girls) and Marcus Hauck (tied for 6th 17&Over boys).

Age Group State Championships (Rochester, MN)

We had seven swimmers compete at the Age Group State Championships in Rochester and combine for 15% individual best times.  Leah Enedy, Julia Feldhake, Lucy Graham, Clare Liebl, Claire Ray, Paige Steenblock and Peyton Truman all represented the club at the meet.

Paige Steenblock lowered her own record in the 13-14 Girls 200 IM.  Last year Paige set the record at 2:37.40 and this year lowered the mark to 2:35.03.

Senior State Championships (Minneapolis, MN)

We had eleven swimmers compete at the SR State Championships in Minneapolis and combined for 50% best times.  Representing the club were Marcus Hauck, Signe Hauck, Tatum Hauc, Bryce Malecha, Ryan Malecha, Chloe Mellgren, Ella Palmquist, Caroline Peterson, Paige Steenblock, Emily Taylor and William Taylor.

Marcus Hauck achieved two new team records at the meet in the 17&Over Boys division.  He first set the 100 back record with a time of 1:04.54.  The previous record of 1:05.98 was set by Andrew Mering back in 2010.  He also set the 200 IM record with a time of 2:22.42.  The previous record of 2:25.73 was set in 2006 by Sam Betterly.

The relay group of Ella Palmquist, Paige Steenblock, Signe Hauck and Tatum Hauck also lowered the Senior Girls 800 Free relay record with a time of 9:26.35.  The previous record of 9:26.87 was set last year by Chloe Mellgren, Caroline Peterson, Signe Hauck and Tatum Hauck.
