Ashleigh has been involved with the Rochester Swim Club most of her life.  All the way from taking swim lessons through swimming competitively, where she was a national level swimmer until she graduated high school.  Ashleigh swam her freshman year of college at UW-Madison.

Ashleigh began teaching swim lessons when she was 12 years old and has assisted coaching many of the developmental groups as well.  During the Summer Ashleigh oversees the outdoor public pools in the role of Operations Manager and she can be found teaching private swim lessons year round.

Nancy began teaching swim lesson when her four children were involved with the swim team practices 15 years ago. She has taught all levels of lessons and now assists on-deck with managing lessons in swim school and working with the swimmers who are transitioning to the team. She loves helping children build their skills and helping them to be the best swimmer they can be.

JJ is the Orcas Head Diving Coach and periodically assists with some of the other swimming groups.  JJ has an extensive background in coaching and participating in diving in the area.  JJ was the diving coach at St. Mary's University in Winona for 9 years.  He has also coached diving for both the mens and womens teams at Winona High School for 13 seasons.  JJ has had numerous conference championships while coaching both high school and college. JJ led a summer club for 6 years in the area. He has been nominated as Section Coach of the Year and Big 9 Conference Coach of the Year. 


Gresin Hawse
Assistant Diving Coach

Gresin was a diver for the Cuban National team for over 10 years.  She specialized in 10m platform diving; she held the National Championship title for several years in this event.  She represented Cuba internationally in several meets including the 1998 World Cup in Mexico, 1998 Grand Prix in Mexico and Fort Lauderdale.  In 1999 as she was preparing for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, and while at the Grand Prix in Fort Lauderdale she defected from the Cuban team.  Giving up her dream to participate in an Olympic Games was very difficult but in Gresin's mind absolutely necessary in order for her to achieve more important goals in life.  

She was given a scholarship to dive for Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida.  She graduated with a Biology-Biochemistry BS degree in 2003.  Gresin moved to Rochester in 2004 with her fiance, now husband, to work at Mayo Clinic in research.  They married in 2007 and since then had two kids, a son that is almost 8 and a daughter tha tis 5.  After all those years away from diving, Gresin is very excited to be back now as a coach for the Orcas.

Jen Anklan
Assistant Diving Coach

Jen was a diver for over ten years and currently holds the 1-meter diving record for the University of North Dakota where she graduated with a degree in Kinesiology.  Following college, she dove for a show in Indiana where she trained as a high diver under a Red Bull Cliff Diver.  She has been coaching club teams and high school diving in the Grand Forks and Rochester areas since 2012.  Jen took a break from coaching to pursue her Doctorate of Physical Thereapy degree from Bond University in Gold Coast, Australia and is happy to be back on deck coaching
