Program Description
Orca Swim School is a swim lesson program designed to teach skills from water acclimation to advanced freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly skills.  SwimAmerica lessons focus on the elements of balance, breath control, sculling, and rhythm.  Classes are taught in a positive environment based on praise and reinforcement to motivate each child to do his or her best. 

Experience/Education Requirements

  • Able to demonstrate skills required for class content; including comfort in the water

  • Able to work independently and possess energy and enthusiasm

  • Positively interact with swim participants and their parents/guardians

  • Previous aquatic experience a plus but not mandatory

Job Duties

  • Responsible for instructing swimming lessons in a manner in line with Swim America goals while maintaining a safe pool environment for students and other patrons. 

  • Complete evaluation reports for each participant at the completion of each lesson

  • Work hours as scheduled; including set up and clean up of lesson supplies

  • Attends mandatory meetings and training sessions

  • Completes all necessary paperwork completely and on time

  • Able to act appropriately and immediately to secure safety of patrons in the event of an emergency

  • Be alert, courteous, and present a professional attitude and appearance at all times

  • Other tasks as assigned and appropriate
