Velocity Aquatics Covid-19 Policy (Updated Sept 2021)

Velocity Aquatics is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for our athletes, coaches, and facilities. To ensure that, we have developed the following COVID-19 Safety and Operations policies in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Coaches, athletes, parents, and volunteers are all responsible for implementing these policies. Our goal is to safely participate in the sport of swimming while mitigating the potential for transmission of COVID-19, and that effort requires full cooperation among all Velocity participants, employees, and partners. Only through this cooperative effort can we maintain the safety and health of the facilities we use and the activities we conduct.

Velocity will closely monitor the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), and will follow the instructions Delano Public Schools, Safari Island management and Watertown-Mayer Public Schools with respect to operating protocols in each respective facility, as well as any other facilities where Velocity rents space and or attends any events.

All persons involved in any in-person Velocity practice, event, or function - including athletes and coaches - shall be encouraged to self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19.  Any person exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, having contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or who has been asked by MDH, a school district nurse or trained contact tracer to quarantine for close contact exposure; Velocity Aquatics shall use the Minnesota Department of Health Sports Guide and Quarantine guide to determine whether a participant can enter the pool or participate in Velocity Aquatics organized activities.
