What is the difference between Short Course season (SC) and Long Course season (LC)?

Short Course Season: This season typically runs from the months of September through March 31st. All meets during this period are hosted in a type of competitive pool which measures 25 yards or 25 meters. Minnesota Championships are conducted in yards, which the majority of pools here in MN do.

Long Course Season: This season typically runs from April 1st through the end of August. The season is named because the MACs, MRCs and State meets are conducted in Long Course, 50 meter pools. During this season practice schedules for Senior and Up swimmers will offer some long course options.
