2020 LCM SPRING/SUMMER WAVE SWIM CLUB TRAINING GROUPS

It is the goal of the Wright County Wave to offer age-specific training for all of our athletes geared toward challenging each individual and developing each swimmer to the best of their abilities.  Wright County Wave swim coaches will place swimmers into a training group based on their age and their competitive swimming skill development.   Coaches will determine when a swimmer is ready to advance to the next level.  A swimmer may advance within the coarse of a season.

  • Each training group has a designated practice time.
  • Click the  TRAINING SCHEDULE BUTTON  on the website to view practice times.
  • Wave swimmers in all training groups will be encouraged to participate in swim meets.  There are additional fees to participate in swim meets.  Meet fees vary.  Fees are listed on the Meet & Event Information page when you sign up for them.  Parents and swimmers may pick and choose the away meets they want to attend.

During the on-line meet registration process parents and swimmers may indicate their individual event preferences, however all entries do require coach approval.  Coaches may switch events at their digression.  Coaches will also determine the swimmers in all Wave relays and the order of swimmers in each relay.  The Club covers the cost of all relays.  Your account will be billed for individual swim meet fees and they are non-refundable.

The purchase of a Wave team swim suit and swim cap is highly recommended.  Suits should be ordered at the beginning of the season.  Visit the Wave Suits & Caps link on the website to order suits.  Caps may be purchased at practice.

Wave home meets are mandatory and short races are available for smaller new swimmers.  Parents are expected to volunteer to help at all home swim meets.  Some jobs are as simple as pushing a button.  Familes who do not meet the minimum volunteer hours at the end of the season will be billed.

"NEW" FAMILY VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENT:   **This season each family is required to work 6 voluneer hours during the long course season.  If the volunteer hour requirement is not fulfilled by the end of the season, your account will be assessed a $250 per family fee.  Hours will be tracked online via our team website. We encourage families to work more if they can to help the club and provide these great opportunities for our kids to swim.

This season the club will run the following meet:

WAVE Summer Scorcher ---25-yard meet, Buffalo Community Middle School pool, June 26-27th 2020

WAVE SWIM CLUB CANCELLATION POLICY:  This is not a "pay as you go" program.  Our pool time and lane space is limited so by registering for the Wave Swim Club, you are committing to completing the season and paying dues in full unless you provide the Parent Board of Directors a written request to withdraw within the first 2 weeks of the season.  NO REFUNDS or cancellations of monthly fees will be issued after the first two weeks of the season.

WAVE SWIM CLUB TRAINING GROUP PROGRESSION

Below is a guide to help parents understand our Swim Training Group Progression.  The progression is designed to  increase practice duration and intensity as a swimmer ages and progresses in their skills.  Please contact your child's training group coach if you have questions.

At this time all Senior level athletes train together so below the progression builds to a single Senior Group.  As our club grows these two training groups may split and a additional Senior Elite Group will be added.
