New Information

Riptide Novice Invite Results: Congratulations to our swimmers who competed on Saturday! Riptide swimmers earned a slew of new and best times. Thank you to the many volunteers who gave their time to make the meet a great success! Meet results will be posted as soon as they are available.

6th Annual Riptide Chilly Dip Invite: We are looking forward to our big invite this Friday through Sunday. 553 swimmers from 9 teams will compete: Aquajet, Great Wolf, Lake Superior Swim Club, Mako Aquatics, Minneapolis Otters, Minnetonka Swim Club, North Shore Swim Club, West Express and of course...RIPTIDE SWIM TEAM.

Riptide takes pride in hosting well run meets. As of Monday morning, we need to fill many key jobs. All families with participating swimmers are asked to work three shifts at both of Riptide’s major home meets (Chilly Dip in December & iHeart in February). If your swimmer is competing, we need your help! There are approximately 300 volunteer positions for this 5-session meet and Riptide has 130 swimmers participating. If everyone does their share (130 swimmers x 3 slots = 390 slots), we can easily cover the workload. Please go to the sign-up here to find a way in which you can contribute at the meet. If you have any questions regarding the job sign-up, you can contact Coach Amy (amy@riptideswimteam.org) or Jennifer Hutchins (jenniferahutchins@yahoo.com

Winter Junior Nationals: Riptide Senior Elite swimmers are headed to Austin tomorrow for Junior Nationals. The meet will be live-streamed and we encourage you to follow our athletes. Our seven Junior Nationals participants are Nicole Burg, Winter Craig, Claudia Dougan, Lauren Lewis, Tim Rizzo, Regan Smith & Katia Soudakova. The meet is December 5-8 at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center on the Campus of the University of Texas, Austin. Good luck!

QUOTE for the WEEK

"For me, winning isn't something that happens suddenly on the field when the whistle blows and the crowds roar. Winning is something that builds physically and mentally every day that you train and every night that you dream." ~Emmitt Smith

Ongoing Updates & Reminders

Private Lessons: If you’re interested in private lessons for your swimmer, please speak to your coach or email Paul Smith.

Swim Meet Entry Reminder: Swim meets on the Riptide meet schedule have very specific groups assigned to each meet. This helpful document will help you navigate that detail. Additionally, lead coaches always select the swimmers' events. These details are also listed on each meet page.

Meet Announcers: We’re looking for a few enthusiastic people to train to become announcers at our home meets! This is another great way to support the team! If you’re interested, please email Coach Amy.

Your Swimmers Times: If you’ve ever wanted to review your swimmer’s times, we encourage you to look into the SWIMS database at USA Swimming. This is a great source for almost anything you might want to know about your swimmer’s performance.

Locker Room Behavior: Our locker rooms are to be respected as are the swimmers that use them. Please discuss this with your swimmer and emphasize the importance of respectful behavior.
