Coach Raz has almost 20 years of professional coaching experience, including Head Age Group Coach, Head Coach and USA Swimming National Team Coach (2015-17). Under his leadership his teams have won age group championships in NC (2011) and Ozark swimming (2017) LSC's and also finished top 20 at summer Jr. Nationals in 2015 and top 15 at Winter Jr’s in 2015. He has developed and trained one athlete and five 18 and under athletes to the 2008 and 2016 Olympic Trials. He coached (USAS National Team member and 2021 Olympian) Ashley Twichell to a national championship in the 10k and 800 LCM in 2016.

In 2018 Raz started Midwest Athletic Club to provide the same quality and consistent coaching he has provided for 20 years while expanding into professional lessons, video analysis and triathlon swimming training.

In his spare time Raz enjoys spending time with his family, exercising, golfing and cooking. Raz was born in Romania, immigrated to the US in the late 1990s and was adopted by his parents Elliott and Cecilia McGregory.
