Head Coach Marc Danin
My name is Marc Danin and I am the Head coach / proud owner of Islanders Aquatics. My experience with swimming in a whole has been very full. I grew up swimming at Three Village swim club where not only competed for 12 years but it was here that I realized that one day I would like to run a swim club of my own! After scholastic swimming ended I entered the world of College swimming. In college I earned multiple MVP's and All American in the 100 Backstroke. This will be my 27th year coaching. Prior to Islanders Aquatics I was the head coach for west islip Swim Club. I started Islanders Aquatics in 2011. This was my biggest accomplishment and one that I'm most proud of.. Most teams around Suffolk County were already established for more than 20 years. It was not easy to break in with a new club. We broke in and have only gotten better!
I am also the men and women's Varsity swim coach at The Stony Brook School. This program was revived in 2015 since then we have had over 10 new pool records as our team continues to grow a swim FAST!
On the club level he has trained and developed top eight and under, Silver, Junior Olympic, Zone, Top 16, Junior National, Futures, National and Senior National Qualifiers and recently a Para Olympic Trial Qualifier
I bring a contagious passion for the sport to the deck every day and it’s easy to see that in the swimmers I work with. I approach every season with a specific training progression, every week with a race specific training program, and every day with fresh creative workout aimed at keeping the swimmers engaged in the daily challenge.
