This means we must engage individuals throughout our member community in tough conversations about inequalities, identify the signs of systematic racism, and share proven solutions.

USA Swimming Announces New Open Water National Team and National Junior Team

USA Swimming has announced it's 2022-23 Open Water National Team and National Junior Team. Among the National Junior team members named were Mary McKenna, a current Metro swimmer from Long Island Express.

Mary competed in the 2022 Open Water Nationals in Fort Myers Beach, placing 12th overall in the National 10K and 3rd in the Junior National 7.5K. She was an Eastern Zone Open Water 5K Champion in 2021, and silver medalist in 2022. She is also a 2 time Metro Open Water 5K Champion (2021 and 2022), and was part of the Metro Open Water Championship winning women's team in 2022. In the pool, Mary was the 2022 Senior Zone Champion in the 800 and 1500 LCM Freestyle.
