NDAC COVID-19 UPDATE
2020-21 SEASON

NDAC remains hopeful that we can have swimmers in the pool for some of the 2020-21 swim season. We are working hard to make that happen.

Due to Covid-19, Bard College has made the decision to keep the Stevenson Gymnasium Pool closed to the public and outside groups such as NDAC for the foreseeable future. Bard will reassess in January 2021 based on current Covid-19 conditions.

Coach Storrs is looking at any and all alternative local pool options to keep NDAC swimming.

If we are able to offer practices in October and beyond, first priority will be given to returning NDAC swimmers.

Swimmers new to NDAC should email info@ndac.us to be added to our emai list to recieve updates.
Please include your swimmer's age and a brief description of his/her swim experience/ability.

TYPICAL NDAC SEASON

NDAC Short Course Season runs from September through March (Short Course Meets take place in 25 yard pools).

NDAC Long Course Season runs from April through June / July (Long Course Meets take place in 50 meter pools).

The exact last day of practice for each season depends on which Championship Meet(s) your child is swimming.

During Registration for Short Course Season, you have the option to register for only Short Course Season or for Full Year Registration (both Short and Long Course Seasons).

Full Year Registration guarantees your swimmer a spot during Long Course Season and ensures that your swimmer is entered in Long Course Meets (which fill up quickly). Full-Year Registration also offers savings on Swimmer Registration Fees.

Returning NDAC Swimmers:
Unless you were told otherwise by your coach, please register your child for the group they were in last year. Adjustments and changes in group placement will be made during the first weeks of the season.

LATE PAYMENT POLICY

The credit or debit card that you have on file will be automatically charged on the 1st of each month for any payment plan installment or meet entry fees that are due.  As long as you maintain a valid credit or debit card on file, your payments will never be late.

You will not be able to register for swim meets unless you have a valid credit or debit card on file.

You will receive an email if your credit or debit card is denied when automatic payments on the 1st of the month are processed. You have until the 15th of the month to resolve it. Accounts must be current by the 15th of the month or you will be charged a $5 late fee.

If your account is delinquent/unpaid a 2nd time during the season, a late fee of $25 will be charged. If your account is unpaid a 3rd time during the season, the late fee is $50, for the 4th time the fee is $75 (and so on).

Please maintain a valid credit or debit card on file to avoid paying late fees.

NDAC PARENT WORK REQUIREMENTS

NDAC recognizes that families are incredibly busy and we try to keep mandatory participation requirements for our fundraising efforts to a minimum.

Please keep in mind that our fundraisers are what allow us to offer the lowest swimming fees possible. Successful fundraisers benefit everyone. It is important that all NDAC families contribute to these efforts.

Our two main fundraisers that require mandatory participation are:

  • NDAC WINTER FESTIVAL INVITATIONAL SWIM MEET
NDAC's own Invitational is held every year, usually the first weekend in January (please plan accordingly).

Winterfestival is both Saturday and Sunday, 2 sessions each day (4 sessions total).
We cannot host a successful meet without ALL NDAC parents doing their part.
Families are required to volunteer for a minimum of 2 sessions during the course of the swim meet.
Those who do not volunteer will be charged $100 for each session not worked.

  • NDAC SWIM-A-THON
Held every other year (in the Fall of even-numbered years).  Swim-a-Thon is a fun, team-wide, one-night fundraising event. NDAC Swimmers collect pledges and donations for the laps they swim. Suggested individual and team pledge goals will be communicated. Lap goals for swimmers will be set for each Group.

In addition to Winter Festival, NDAC also hosts a few Invitational and Dual Meets at Bard each SC Season. These meets are one session long. Our swim meets are run completely by parent volunteers. We ask that each family provide one worker for each NDAC-hosted meet. The jobs will be available as part of the meet information on the Meets page. There are many ways in which you can help. We look forward to everyone participating in the NDAC family!
