NDAC Awarded USA Swimming Safe Sport Recognized Club Status

NDAC President: Beth Mattis Herbert

Dear NDAC Families and Swimmers,

We are very proud to announce that NDAC has been awarded Safe Sport Recognized Club status from USA Swimming!

NDAC is the first and only swim club within our LSC (Metropolitan Swimming) to have received this designation.

This recognition rewards NDAC's committment to safeguarding all of our athletes and providing a safe, healthy and positive environment for NDAC swimmers and families.

To achieve Safe Sport Recognition, NDAC submitted our Athlete Protection Policies, Safe Sport Best Practices and Safe Sport educational engagement to USA Swimming’s Safe Sport Program:

  • Our travel, electronic communication, and anti-bullying policies
  • Our team honor codes and codes of conduct
  • The processes by which we recruit and train coaches and officials
  • Our communication procedures
  • Our efforts to educate about Safe Sport, abuse prevention and healthy boundaries

All of these items were reviewed by USA Swimming Safe Sport staff.  Our Safe Sport Recognized status will run for 2 years, after which time we will be eligible to renew by reviewing all of our policies and procedures again.

We encourage all NDAC families and swimmers to review our Athlete Protection policies. USA Swimming offers free online Safe Sport courses for swimmers and parents. For more information, see NDAC's Safe Sport tab or USA Swimming's Safe Sport page.

We are excited to have achieved this milestone and to demonstrate our commitment to providing a Safe Sport environment for all NDAC swimmers.
