Chris Mance
Head Coach Senior

Coach Chris has been involved in swimming his entire life. His mother ran a pool and he joined his first swim team when he was 6. As an Age Group swimmer he swam with Attleboro Bluefish in Massachusetts and later trained with Josh Stern and BOSS during the summers; as a college swimmer, he swam 2 years with the University of Kentucky and 2 years with Ohio University where he graduated with a BS in Recreation and Leisure studies.  He moved to New York to start coaching in 2007 and founded Devilfish Aquatics in 2008. He also has coached with Cornwall Sea Dragons, and New York Sharks where he trained swimmers who achieved qualifying standards for Jr. Nationals, Speedo Sectionals, Senior Mets, Zones, Junior Olympics, and 1 NY High School State Champion.

Chris’s philosophy is based on a learn to swim, learn to train, learn to achieve approach to instilling a life-long connection to the sport. He focuses on developing his athlete’s engagement in their physical and mental training by teaching them how reach their full potential as swimmers, teammates, and student-athletes.
