From 2015-2020, John worked as the Head Senior Coach in Rockland with the New York Sharks. In his 5 years with the New York Sharks, he fostered a culture of hard work and commitmen that led to his athletes contributing to several LSC records in individual events, relays, several Junior National and National qualifiers, and several USA Swimming Scholastic All-Americans.  Above all, his athletes made huge contributions to the New York Sharks being recognized as Bronze Medal Club Status in 2018, 2019 and 2020 by the USA Swimming Club Excellence Program.

Over the past several years, some of John's athletes have been invited to and attended USA Swimming Select Camps. In 2017, Edward Park attended the Eastern Zone Diversity Camp, while Matthew Styczen and Tavis Siebert attended the Eastern Zone Select Camp. In 2018, Edward Park attended the Eastern Zone Select Camp, while Matthew Styczen attended the National Select Camp hosted in Colorado Springs, CO at the Olympic Training Center. Jeff Chen Coach

Coach Jeff spent the first 12 years of his career at LaGuardia Aquatic Club Twisters (LGAC) where he coached from 2007-2019. His diverse experience helped him serve his athletes' fundamental development at the age-group level. During his time at LGAC, his contributions led the team to multiple Junior Olympic team titles as well as many years placing in the top three. While working with age groupers at LGAC, athletes under Coach Jeff’s guidance achieved Top 16 USA National Age Group recognition, several Metropolitan LSC records, National Age Group records, as well as Sectional and Junior National standards.

In 2019, Coach Jeff started working with NYSA as the lead coach on the AG2 and AG3 groups as well as the Program Director for the strength and conditioning program for all training levels. Coach Jeff's expertise had an enormous impact on the swimmers he trained both in the pool and on land, resulting in a record number of swimmers from the RCC site qualifying for Speedo Sectionals and Futures before the 2019-2020 season got cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Coach Jeff will play a huge role in our coaching staff at Shark Swimming as the Lead Coach on AG2 and AG3 groups as well as the Program Director for the Dryland and Strength and Conditioning for all levels.
