Hello SSC Parents & Swimmers,

 

Thanks to all who came out and helped with this weekend’s Turkey Trot Distance Meet! Congratulations to all SSC Athletes who came out and competed as well! We had a ton of first time swims this weekend in the distance events and a ton of new championship meet qualifiers across the board!

 

Shout out to Amber Naude on securing her first ZONES cut time in the 50 Freestyle with a 26.55! Shout out to Connor Frank on getting another Junior Olympics (Metro Short Course Age Group Championships)! We had many more Silvers qualifiers and more! I am excited to go through all of the new reports as they become available! Great job by all SSC Swimmers. Your Coaches are proud!

 

Below, please take a moment to review the Top Times Reports, Qualifier Reports, and meet information at the bottom of the Meet Information Chart. Please familiarize yourselves with the upcoming championship meets and remember to set goals and target dates for future qualifications!

 

ALL COMPETITIVE GROUPS - As previously announced, there will be a LAST CHANCE Time Trial offered at the conclusion of the Beginner Mini Meet this Tuesday, 11/22/22. This time trial opportunity will be reserved for swimmers who are close to NCAP QUALIFICATION TIMES ONLY. I currently do not have any formal requests for time trials. Please send me your requests asap to [email protected] All entries are due TODAY by 12:00pm.

NCAP SWIMMERS & PARENTS - There will be a MANDATORY parent Meeting on Tuesday 11/22 at Sachem North at 7:30pm for all parents with swimmers attending NCAP. If your swimmer has qualified for NCAP, please RSVP with Coach Kyle ASAP as your entries have been automatically submitted.

SENIORS - Please be reminded about the community service opportunity this Tuesday! We will need all the help that we can get with timing and assisting the Beginner Meet!

BEGINNER & BEGINNER PLUS END OF FALL / BEGINNING OF WINTER SEASON

 

Hello Fall Beginner & Beginner Plus Swimmers & Parents,

 

Our Fall Beginner and Beginner Plus session is nearing its end. This is a bittersweet time as while we close out the Fall Session, we all have the Winter Session to look forward to! We are so happy to have had so many new faces in our program and the feedback from you, the members, has been incredible. We are thrilled to have had such a full and dedicated Fall Session and are excited to see what the Winter Session brings in as well! Special thanks to Coach Kim, Coach Jess, Coach Ashlyn, Coach Jayden, Coach Rob, and to all the other SSC coaches who made this session’s Beginner programs so awesome!

 

As we near the end of the fall session, we would like to review some dates, information about move ups, and Winter Session details all in one place to hopefully help with any questions that you may have about the upcoming season and about your swimmers.

 

I hope that you are all excited about the upcoming Beginner Time Trial to close out a great season with this incredible group of athletes!

Beginner & Beginner Plus Time Trial Mini Meet

 

Our Fall Beginner and Beginner Plus Mini Meet will be held on Tuesday 11/22/22 at Sachem North! All Beginner and Beginner Plus Swimmers will compete at this time regardless of your typical practice schedules.

 

Warm Up will begin at 5:15pm, so please plan to arrive at 5:00pm!

The Meet will begin at 6:15pm and is estimated to conclude around 7:30pm.

 

Entries to this meet have been posted on our Meet Calendar (click here to view). 

 

If you are UNABLE to attend, please email Coach Kyle at [email protected] ASAP so we can remove you from the meet. All scratches (notices that you cannot swim) will be due by Sunday, 11/20/22)

 

Parents interested in volunteering as timers can contact the SSC Board of Directors for questions regarding working assignments.

Beginner and Beginner Plus Move Ups

Many of you have reached out with questions as to whether your athlete will be moving up from the Beginner Group to the Beginner Plus Group, or from the Beginner Plus Group to the Developmental group. Please note that move up emails will be sent out to each individual if they are being moved up. We expect to begin sending these notices this week. If you do not receive one prior to 11/22/22 please register for the same group that your athlete was in in winter. If you already registered and then receive a move up email, we can manually alter your registration internally and can bill your account the differences pending your approval. If you have any questions about this process, we are here to help!

 

Winter 2022-2023 Season OPEN HOUSE

 

We will be hosting an OPEN HOUSE for NEW MEMBERS on 11/29/22 at Sachem North from 6:00 - 8:00pm. 

 

You do not need to attend this open house if you are a returning swimmer in any group.

 

We encourage all SSC Members to invite their friends, family, neighbors, classmates, etc to come down and try out!
