Dear ASC Members,

Please allow us to clarify as there seems to be some confusion with meets and entries.

You are a member of the Annapolis Swim Club(ASC) and the team/ASC determines which meets we attend and they are listed in Team Unify (TU). In addition, Maryland Swimming (MDSI) may also determine the meets ASC attends as part of Maryland Swimming. As part of our agreement with AACo Parks/Recs, their guidelines state that if you are a member of ASC, your swimmers must compete in meets as representatives of ASC.

ASC submits your swimmers meet entries and fees for the meets that you sign up for via TU.  Coaches, swimmers and parents that attend those meets REPRESENT THE ANNAPOLIS SWIM CLUB. The swimmer's entries are reflected on the entries, psych sheet and results as ASC-MD, ASC or some variation of Annapolis Swim Club.

  • Any parent or swimmer that enters their swimmer(s) in a meet that ASC is NOT attending as UN (unattached) without PRIOR written approval from Coach Ken DeGruchy, will be removed from team immediately.  When a swimmer participates as UN, he/she is NOT representing the Annapolis Swim Club.
  •  Each meet that ASC attends will be listed in TU which includes a sign up deadline. As stated above, ASC submits the team entries to the host team. As a parent/member, you have access 24/7 to TU.  If you miss that sign up deadline, you are NOT permitted to CONTACT THE HOST TEAM, MEET DIRECTOR or any representative of that team in an attempt to get your swimmer entered in the meet or if your swimmer was entered in the meet on time, you are not permitted to contact the host team, meet director or any representative of that team to change your swimmers events.  Contacting the host team, meet director or any representative of that team will result in immediate removal from ASC. If you have concerns with your swimmers entries, please discuss with the coaches. If you miss the sign up deadline, THE ASC COACHING STAFF will not enter your swimmer in the meet so please do not ASK.  Please be proactive and set reminders for the meet sign up deadlines.

When parents contact hosts teams directly for ANY reason, it impacts the relationships ASC has with other teams and coaches, it compromises our membership within Maryland Swimming and lastly gives the perception that we are not a team.

Should you have any questions please let us know.

Chris Rice on behalf of the ASC Coaching Staff
