What is it?

  • SafeSport is USA Swimming's minor athlete abuse prevention policy. 
  • COPPA is the FTC's digital protection act policy

Our club and all parents, swimmers, and volunteers must conform to USA Swimming's and Maryland Swimming's latest SafeSport and Digital Safety guidelines.

What do I need to do?

Maryland Swimming and Annapolis Swim Club requires that all parents, coaches, and volunteers read, acknowledge, and comply with the latest Athlete Protection Policies and Requirements. To ensure this compliance, you need to review and complete the reading and acknowledgement in the Policies and Requirements section.

COPPA Policy

Our club website conforms to the latest Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). The full text of the COPPA statement from the FTC is available on the FTC website.

All parents and volunteers need to review the latest COPPA information. We request that all club parents respect the guidelines and the spirit of COPPA when posting any digital content which may directly or indirectly involve any club swimmers.

SafeSport Policy - To Be Completed by 6/23/32019!

Annapolis Swim Club requires that all swimmers, coaches, parents, and volunteers abide by MD Swimming's and USA Swimming's latest SafeSport guidelines (MAAPP). (Download a PDF Copy).

1. Each parent and volunteer must digitally acknowledge their understanding and agreement to comply with these MAAPP guidelines by June 23, 2019 . (MAAPP Acknowledgement Form

2. If you are a coach or official in good standing you have already completed what is necessary for SafeSport and no further action is required on your part at the moment.

3. In addition, all CURRENT 18-year-old swimmers must complete the online Athlete Protection Training (APT) by June 23, 2019. As swimmers age up to 18, they have 30 days to complete the APT. Failure to complete the training will prevent them from competing in USA Swimming-sanctioned events. (APT LINK). YOU MUST COMPLETE ALL THREE PARTS AND TAKE THE SURVEY!
