Bryce Boston

Head Senior Coach

Coach Bryce has been a competitive swimmer for 21 years. In 2011, at the age of 15, he joined Minnetonka Swim Club. He swam for the club throughout high school and during the summers in college. 

 

During high school, Bryce swam for Eden Prairie. He was a five-time qualifier for the state meet in the 100 butterfly winning the event his senior year. Bryce was also a member of all three relay All Time State Records.  During the Fall of 2013, he attended and competed for the University of Minnesota Swim & Dive team for four years. During his time there, he was a varsity letter winner and participated at the B1G Championships.  

 

Bryce holds a master's degree in elementary education. During the past four years, he taught second and third grade.  Bryce also served as the assistant coach of the Eden Prairie High School Girls & Boys teams for eight seasons. During his time at EP, he worked with small groups with an emphasis on stroke, turn and start technique. He believes in working with each athlete to strive for their individual goals and is aware that training is not a one size fits all approach.  

 

To this day, he still trains and competes at the master's level of swimming. He currently holds the fastest Minnesota Masters times in the 50 yard/meters and 100 yard/meters butterfly events of any age group. He attributes his love for the sport to his time swimming for Minnetonka Swim Club and is excited to work with the next generation of dedicated athletes!

Mikaela Bagley

Head Age Group Coach

Before coming to Minnetonka Swim Club in 2021, Mikaela coached as a lead coach with her previous team for several years. She's coached many swimmers to their first state and zone competitions. She has served as a Team Minnesota Zones and All-Star coach, and continues to strive to reach new levels. 

As a swimmer who grew up on a lake and continues to do so, she stays heavily involved in aquatics from instructing, to lifeguarding, to coaching. Mikaela has a true love of coaching and teaching, and prides herself on making everyone feel welcomed on the pool deck, and building a lifelong love for the sport. Making each swimmer a little better every day is something she strives to accomplish at Minnetonka.

Danielle Wefring

Lead Coach

Danielle growing up a child of a zones level swimmer, felt the draw to be a swimmer at a young age. She started competitively swimming at age 9 and swam through high school at Eastview High School. Her love for swimming didn’t stop there, as she moved into swim instructing, lifeguarding, and coaching as a young adult. 

After 7 years, she still loves coaching and continues to do so. Her sweet spot of coaching is with 12&Us, she loves refining technique and giving swimmers all the tools they need to be the best they can be. As the oldest of many, she has inspired her younger siblings to join the sport. In her free time, she loves to spend time outdoors and study up on Psychology. She’s excited to bring her love of the sport to Minnetonka Swim Club.

 

Allie Maxwell

Lead Coach

Before coming to Minnetonka, Allie coached as an Assistant coach with Wolf Swim Club and Head Coach of Lifetime Swim Maple Grove. Allie has served as an All Stars Coach and now adding Team Minnesota Zones and always seeks new learning. 

Allie started competitively swimming at the age of 8. She swam for New Hope Crystal Plymouth into her High School years for Rogers/Elk River. Allie made 5 year All State and All Conference with setting two records.  After graduating from High School, Allie swam three years for the University of North Dakota specializing in Butterfly and Distance with majoring in Kinesiology; minoring in Assistant Coaching finding her place back at a pool.  

Allie strives to watch and educate swimmers on technique as well as building a great love for the sport and life. Allie is honored to be part of a great, hard working club team here at Minnetonka as well as working with a great group of coaches.  

Jeff Recker

Assistant Coach

Jeff began his swimming career at the age of 7 with ABC Swim Club in the north metro and later for Coon Rapids High School Swim Team where he earned team captain, MVP and All State honors.   Jeff also taught swimming lessons, lifeguarded, and coached for 8 years with the Anoka-Hennepin School District.   

In College, Jeff swam for St. Olaf College, specializing in sprint/middle distance freestyle and backstroke events.  Jeff was a 12 time All American and team captain.   Jeff currently swims with Minnetonka Masters, most recently competing in the 2018 & 2019 U.S. Masters Swimming Short Course National Championships.   

Coach Jeff has 3 kids on the swim club and is thrilled to be able to be on deck sharing his love for the sport with whoever he can.   

Leah Beman

Assistant Coach

Leah began competitive swimming in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, at the age of 10 and continued through all middle school into high school. She continued swimming through high school, swimming on the Varsity High School team for three years. She specialized in sprint/middle distance breaststroke and freestyle events, specifically the 100 breaststroke. Leah competed in Iowa’s Regional Swim Meet for three years and went to State Swimming as an alternate.

Leah attended Iowa State University, where she got her degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Special Education. She is now a teacher in Minnetonka teaching Elementary Special Education. Leah is excited to take her love of swimming and her passion for teaching to become a swim coach!

Chris Kline

Assistant Coach

Chris joined the coaching staff in 2016 officially, prior to that she was a volunteer coach.  She has two sons that have both swam for the club and the Minnetonka High School swim team.  When not at the pool, Chris works as an Engineer at General Dynamics.

Chris began competitive swimming in Duluth MN, swimming during both Junior High and High School on the varsity team.  During this time, she specialized in the 500 Free and Backstroke events.  Chris currently swims with Minnetonka Masters when she can and enjoys being in the water whenever possible. 

Chris is honored to be part of such a great community as Minnetonka and enjoys spreading her love for the sport both on the pool deck as a coach and in the stands cheering. 

 

Lindsey Lewis

Assistant Coach

Lindsey began her swimming career at age six, swimming for SEMS Swim Club. In high school, Lindsey swam for the East Ridge Raptors in Woodbury, specializing in the 200 and 500 yard Freestyle. She then went on to compete collegiately at the Division II level for St. Cloud State University Swim and Dive. During her 4 years as a Husky, Lindsey competed as a distance swimmer, eventually becoming the school record holder in the 1650 Freestyle. She graduated from SCSU in 2018 with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. Lindsey has coached Novice, Age-group and Masters level swimmers for 3 years with Mako Aquatics (Hudson, WI) and Superior High School Girls Swim (Superior, WI). Before joining Minnetonka Swim Club, Lindsey lived in Duluth, MN working in children's mental and behavioral health for four years as a Case Manager and Life Skills worker. In addition, Lindsey is a 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher. When Lindsey is not at the pool, she teaches an occasional vinyasa yoga class and hosts a weekly online meditation, helping others to incorporate mindfulness into their daily life. 

Henry Skinner

Assistant Coach

Henry started swimming around the time he was eleven years old with South Metro Storm Swim Club. He swam for the Prior Lake Swim Team in high school where he earned team captain, most dedicated, and multiple top 8 finishes at high school state. During college, he was a team captain for the South Dakota State Jackrabbits, focusing on the sprint freestyle and backstroke events, while majoring in Political Science and minoring in Spanish.

During college, Henry also began his coaching career by coaching for the Silver and Gold groups with Brookings Swim Club. His main goal is to bring a balance of physical and mental training to create the most well-rounded and healthy swimmers possible!

Henry is thrilled to coach with Minnetonka and hopes to not only teach, but learn from his fellow coaches and athletes!
