The Otters Swim team plans the annual schedule to culminate in a series of final postseason meets. Because team space is limited and fills to capacity in some groups, it's very important that all participants understand the group goals, expectations, and schedule. This season, we have three changes to the meet commitment:

  1. All meets are considered equal for competition.
  2. Meet commitments are based by SESSIONS, not meets. A swimmer going to both days of a weekend meet gets two sessions' worth of commitment covered. A swimmer going to one day of a two day meet gets one session's worth of commitment covered. Novice meets and intrasquads are considered single sessions for meet commitment.
  3. Events will be selected by coaches, except for at Novice-specific meets. On the commitment page, requests and restrictions (certain days) can be entered.

Swimmers who register for a group above novice are committing to complete the competitive season through their final meet of the winter (MAC, MRC, State Championships, or an approved alternative. Swimmers not committing to this full season should delay registration, as preference is given to those completing the season.  It is our hope that every swimmer in River, Sea, Presenior, and senior Otters swims their season to completion.

All swimmers in River, Sea, Pre-senior, and Senior are AUTOMATICALLY entered into both days of our hosted meets on November 2-3 and December 21-22. Parents may choose other meets instead of these competitions, but they must remove swimmers from these meets before sign-ups close in order to avoid entry and fees with these meets.

Automatic entry into hosted meets means that specified swimmers active on the team at the time of our hosted meets will be entered by default, and can be withdrawn as long as they meet their competition requirement through other meets. Late removals still will be billed to accounts. We host meets in November, December, and April. Withdrawing does NOT waive the service hour requirement.
