CNS is excited to accept swimmers of all ages and ability levels who want to work hard, have fun, and compete as a Narwhal! Evaluations are held 4 times a year, with our biggest evaluation happening in July/August. The purpose of evaluations is to provide you and your athlete the opportunity to see if club swimming is the right fit, and also for our coaching staff to determine the best placement for your athlete. Completing evaluations does not guarantee a registration opportunity. Due to pool restraints we can only hold a certain number of swimmers at one time. CNS does maintain a waitlist of evaluated swimmers and offer spots to those athletes first when they become available.
After completing evaluations, you will be contacted by the Membership Coordinator for your next steps to becoming a Narwhal.
Be sure to check the website often for more info about out next evaluation date.
What To Expect At Evaluations
Depending on the swimmer's age and experience, each swimmer will be asked to complete a series of drills to see if your athlete is ready for competitive swimming. Each athlete will work one on one with a CNS coach to be evaluated on his or her skills. Parents will have an opportunity to speak with a board member, coach, or current CNS athletes to ask questions and learn more about the team if they are interested. You can find more information on our website about level expectations.
We ask that swimmers come prepared to swim by wearing proper swim attire, bringing goggles, a swim cap if needed, a towel and a great attitude!
