Gary Galbreath Head Coach

Gary is begining his 8th year with Columbia Swim Club. Gary is a certified Level 4 coach, certified through The American Swim Coaches Association. He’s been a swim coach for 38 years and was a swimmer from age 10 through colleges where he swam WVU. Gary was the 1998 YMCA National Coach of the Year and a two time Southwest Ohio YMCA Coach of the Year. Gary’s swimmers have achieved junior and senior national level status, won state high school championships. Gary has also coached swimmers to world rankings. Gary has helped his swimmers find a place to continue their swimming careers in college from small D-III schools to high powered D-I schools. One of the things Gary is most proud of is that he gives them the tools to continue to improve as they swim in college. Gary has 3 children, sons Justin (former swimmer and current triathlete), Justin is a Civil Engineer for the State of Pennsylvania. Noah was a swimmer until he was 12, then played basketball through high school. He is the Director of Events and Catering for a hotel in Greely, Co. Gary's daughter Abby, is a graduate of The University of South Carolina and a Masters Degree from Metro State. She was Team Captain on the University Swim Team. Abby is a Mental Health Specialist for a school in Denver, Co

 

Rhett Wisener Head Age Group Coach

Rhett grew up in Indiana and swam competitively through high school.  While at Ball State and Purdue University, he played on the club water polo teams.  Rhett got his start in coaching in 2009 as an assistant with Indian Creak Aquatic Club (Trafalgar, IN) and the Indian Creek high school and middle school teams.  While at ICAC, the club had its first ever Olympic Trials qualifier, multiple age group state champs, and a number of swimmers go on to swim in college.  Rhett coached with South Carolina Swim Club (Charleston, SC) from September, 2016 through May, 2021.  He coached various groups at SCSC and most recently lead a group of 13- to 15-year-old athletes that produced several state champs and Sectional to Jr National level qualfiers.  Rhett was involved with both the Indiana and South Carolina LSC’s, serving as Co-Age group chair in SC and as a coach for multiple camps, zones, and other championship teams in both LSC’s.  Rhett believes in focusing on technique and helping athletes develop a positive mindset and skills that will benefit them both in and out of the pool.  Prior to his move to South Carolina, Rhett spent 19+ years as a fisheries biologist with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

Anne Sievers Assistant Coach

Anne Sievers has been involved in the sport of swimming for most of her life and has been a swim coach for over 20 years, 15 of which have been coaching summer league teams in Columbia. She has taught hundreds of kids to swim while helping others to advance their skills to the next level as competitive swimmers. During her 5 years coaching at Mizzou she helped the Tigers earn top-25 rankings for the first time in school history along with several individual swimmers qualifying for the NCAA championships. Sievers brings a passion for the sport and developing all athletes of all levels in the pool!

As a swimmer, Sievers began competing in Illinois at the age of 8 before moving onto swim at the University of Michigan. As a swimmer, Sievers was a 10-time All-American, 5-time Big Ten Champion being named “Female Athlete of the Year” her senior season at Michigan. She is the only athlete in Illinois swimming history to be named “Illinois Swimmer of the Year” on four separate occasions. She held numerous state records with some still standing today. On the international level, Sievers represented the United States on multiple occasions on several national teams. She was a finalist at the US. Olympic Trials in 1992 and 1996, narrowly missing the Olympic Team in 1996.

Sievers has been coaching on and off with CSC for many years primarily working with the National Team swimmers. When Sievers is not on the pool deck she’s either running her business, Synergy Sports, training athletes or coaching and watching her two kids in their sports. Sievers is a mom to Katherine, age 17 and Luke, age 14.

Mary Egnatuk Assistant Coach

Mary Ann Egnatuk has been coaching swimming for the last 44 years.  She has 33 years as a head high school and head age-group swim coach.  She began her career at Ogemaw Heights High School.  In 1978, she started the girl’s swimming program at Albion High School and coached both teams to numerous league championships.  During her 30 years as head coach, the girls team captured the Michigan High School Athletic Association’s Class B State Championship in 1997, and the team was the runner-up in 1996 and 1998.  Her teams also excelled in the classroom, winning 12 Academic Team State Championships.  

Mary Ann was awarded the MHSAA Coach of the Year in 1997 and 2008, a finalist for the National High School Athletic Coaches Association’s Coach of the year in 2005 and 2009 and the MISCA Matt Mann Coaches Award in 2001.

In 1976, Mary Ann graduated from Albion College with a B.A. in History and Physical Education and a teaching certificate.  She taught at the high school level for 35 years.  She has a masters in Education from Spring Arbor University.  She was inducted into the Albion College Athletic Hall of Fame in 1996 as a three sport athlete, field hockey, swimming and track.  Egnatuk was named an Albion College Distinguished Alumni in 2004.  Mary Ann is a Red Cross Instructor in Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR.

Mary Ann and her husband, Dave have three  daughters and two granddaughters.  

Jared Larson Assistant Coach

Jared is a senior at the university of Missouri, studying parks and recreation, with a emphasis on sport management. Jared swam with Columbia swim club for 12 years, and coached for 4yrs with the team.
