Gary Galbreath Head Coach

Gary is a certified Level 4 coach, certified through The American Swim Coaches Association. He’s been a swim coach for over 30 years and was a swimmer from age 10 through colleges where he swam WVU. Gary was the 1998 YMCA National Coach of the Year and a two time Southwest Ohio YMCA Coach of the Year. Gary’s swimmers have achieved junior and senior national level status, won state high school championships. Gary has also coached swimmers to world rankings. Gary has helped his swimmers find a place to continue their swimming careers in college from small D-III schools to high powered D-I schools. One of the things Gary is most proud of is that he gives them the tools to continue to improve as they swim in college. Gary has 3 children, sons Justin (former swimmer and current triathlete), Justin is a Civil Engineer for the State of Pennsylvania, Noah is a Senior in High School and played basketball for his high school. Gary's daughter Abby, is a recent graduate of The University of South Carolina and was Team Captain on the Swim Team.

Gary coaches the National group and oversees the training for all groups at MU.

Todd Kramer Lead Coach Achievers

Todd started his coaching career as a volunteer assistant for his high school's girl's swim team in 2000. In the summer of 2001 he started coaching for the Lenexa Lazers summer league team. After moving to Manhattan, KS to attend Kansas State University he started coaching for the Manhattan Marlins in 2002, and was hired as their head coach in 2005. In 2008 he moved to Wichita to be the Head Age Group coach for the Wichita Swim Club, and was promoted to Assistant Head Coach in 2012. During his time with both the Marlins and WSC he coached multiple Junior National qualifiers, had two swimmers from the Marlins who went on to be NCAA Division 2 All Americans and two swimmers from Wichita who went on to be an NCAA Division 1 All American. He currently serves as the Senior Chair for Missouri Valley and is on the Missouri Valley Board of Directors. He previously spent five years serving as the Coaches Representative and three years as the Technical Planning Chair for Missouri Valley. During that time he was also on the Missouri Valley Board of Directors. 

Todd is the lead coach for Achievers and also assists with the National and Transition Senior groups. 

Mary Egnatuk Lead Coach Transition Senior

Mary Ann Egnatuk has been coaching swimming for the last 44 years.  She has 33 years as a head high school and head age-group swim coach.  She began her career at Ogemaw Heights High School.  In 1978, she started the girl’s swimming program at Albion High School and coached both teams to numerous league championships.  During her 30 years as head coach, the girls team captured the Michigan High School Athletic Association’s Class B State Championship in 1997, and the team was the runner-up in 1996 and 1998.  Her teams also excelled in the classroom, winning 12 Academic Team State Championships.  

Mary Ann was awarded the MHSAA Coach of the Year in 1997 and 2008, a finalist for the National High School Athletic Coaches Association’s Coach of the year in 2005 and 2009 and the MISCA Matt Mann Coaches Award in 2001.

In 1976, Mary Ann graduated from Albion College with a B.A. in History and Physical Education and a teaching certificate.  She taught at the high school level for 35 years.  She has a masters in Education from Spring Arbor University.  She was inducted into the Albion College Athletic Hall of Fame in 1996 as a three sport athlete, field hockey, swimming and track.  Egnatuk was named an Albion College Distinguished Alumni in 2004.  Mary Ann is a Red Cross Instructor in Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR.

Mary Ann and her husband, Dave have three  daughters and two granddaughters.  

Laura Wacker Lead Coach Explorers

Laura Wacker is a Level 3 ASCA swim coach whose experience includes coaching club, high school and college swim teams.  She is known for her ability to correct stroke technique and improve a team's capability at any level.  As a club coach, she worked for Sugar Creek (STL), Columbia Swim Club and Cape Gators (Cape Girardeau).  Under her coaching, seven swimmers achieved National Top 16 rankings for their age group. As the head coach at Stephens College for 16 years, Wacker guided the Stars to NAIA National top 20 finishes after their transition from NCAA Div.III.  As head coach for the CPS High School teams, Wacker became the only coach in Missouri history to win a championship for girls and place 1st & 2nd in the boy’s division, when the Rock Bridge girls and boys teams won the Championship and Hickman boys placed 2nd in 2015.  Laura enjoys coaching swimmers of all levels and loves to help all swimmers become winners by improving their times.
