Tyler Calvert Longview Coach

Tyler Calvert has been around swimming since the Fall of 2000 as a swimmer of Raytown South Highschool.  After graduation he became a swimmer for the Riptide for one season before moving towards coaching, and loves every minute of it.  He has many hobbies which include coaching, working out, fly fishing, and cars.  He graduated with his Bacehlors of Science Nursing from Graceland University in May 2014 and is now an operating room registered nurse.  As an avid fan of the sport, he is regularly working on bettering himself as a coach and the drills he uses to aid the kids in bettering themselves in the water.  He loves seeing the kids achieving their goals and learning how working hard with smart actions that prepare them for future successes in both swimming and in life.

He feels it is important to give back to the community that gave him so much during his formative years, and by coaching he is able to share some of his passion with tomorrow's leaders. In college, he was a wrestling letterman for the United States Air Force Academy, and qualified for the NCAA Handball Championships while at Southwest Missouri State, now known as Missouri State. His swimming background comes from his youth, where he spent much of his first 12 years in life competing, even posting AAA times in 200 breaststroke.
