National Team's Alec Liu (Blue Valley North) has been named a National Merit finalist. Alec has an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,600 National Merit scholarships worth more than $30 million that will be offered in the spring. Students were named finalists after taking the 2019 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). Congratulations, Alec!

March 11-14th the Blazers had 14 athletes attend Region VIII Sectionals in Jenks, OK. Not only was this our first travel meet and sectionals for almost exactly a year, it was the first Long Course meet that we have attended in nearly 18 months. While this, like most of our meets, did not feel “normal” our athletes represented the Kansas City Blazers proudly and with great success. Blazers Call to Action: We Need Officials!!! Families, we are in dire need of officials. We are looking down the barrel of not having enough officials to run meets in the near future. USA Swimming has released the 2021 - 2024 National Motivational Age Group Time Standards! The time standards for both the traditional age group (10 & Under; 11-12; 13-14; 15-16; 17-18) and the Single Age Motivational Time standards (for each age 10 - 18) are intended to offer benchmarks for athletes, as they progress through their swimming career and work towards qualifying time standards for Districts, Champs, Sectionals and beyond!
