WELCOME TO BLUE WAVE

Registration for 2019-2020 is fast approaching. Registration for returning members begins July 24th. Registration for new members will open on August 7th. Registration for the team requires a YMCA membership which can be completed at the time of registration. For returning members, it also requires the payment of any outstanding meet fees or fines published at the time of registration. Please remember that all registrations must be done in person at the Platte City YMCA Welcome Center. Below you will find info for the season and step by step instructions for the registration process. Please contact Brent Graham at brentgraham@kansascityymca.org or 816.858.0114 if you have any questions. We look forward to welcoming you to the Blue Wave Family

Before you register:

  • BE INFORMED - Read over the information below so that you know what to expect out of the season. This is a commitment to make only once you are informed. Please be sure to read our  Blue Wave Swim Team Handbook whether you are a new or returning member as we have updated the handbook and added some new information. You will be asked to confirm your agreement to follow team policies and procedures when you register, so please be informed.

  • GET SET - Check your group placement, schedule a new swimmer evaluation or attend stroke clinic. For returning members, a list of placements can be found on the  2019-2020 Swimmer Group Placement List. If you are not on the list as you have not been swimming this summer, please contact Coach Brent. If you are a new member and want to register right away, evaluations  can be scheduled any time between now and August 8th. Evaluations usually take place Monday through Wednesday around 6pm at our Platte City location. Other times and dates may be available. If you are on the fence and want to try it out first, join us for Stroke clinic August 19th to August 23rd. Full schedule and details can be found below. We also offer other options like swim club or lessons.

  • SIGN UP - Come to the Platte County Community Center North YMCA in Platte City, MO. If you are not already a member our kind, friendly welcome center staff can give you a tour and get you set up. They will also process your registration.

  • ACCOUNT SET-UP – Within 72 hours  of registration, you will receive an email with instructions for logging in to our team website. If you are a current member, you will receive information about how to update your account. If you are a new member, you will receive a questionnaire so an account can be set up for you. Once the questionnaire is complete and account will be created and once it is active, you will receive log in instructions. We will then ask you to confirm the information we have input into the system. You will then be ready to receive team communication and to start the season.

  • MEET THE FAMILY - Attend our stroke clinic and mandatory team meetings. Failure to attend these meetings will prevent your swimmer from participating until a meeting with the Director has been scheduled and completed. These meetings give you a chance to meet the coaches and other families as well as for our team to get you the information you will need to be successful for the season and the information we need to coach your child to their highest level.

  • HAVE FUN!  - Swimming is a big commitment, but it is also BIG FUN! We like to work hard here at Blue Wave but we love to have a good time. When it comes to our team, they can be one and the same.

We look forward to welcoming you into our family and hope to see you soon at the pool!
