Region VIII Speedo Sectionals Recap
The Region VIII Speedo Sectionals swim meet was held March 10-13th in Columbia, Missouri. There were over 60 teams from 5 conferences. NLU had 8 swimmers qualify and attend. There were 6 swims at Finals, 3 new Sectionals cuts, 5 new Sectionals-Bonus cuts and 2 new team records.
-Nick Bracken opted to pick up a spot in the time trials and swim the 100 Fly. It paid off and he earned another Bonus cut in that event.
-MaryBeth Clark returned to Finals in all 3 of her events: 50 Fly, 100 Fly and 200 Fly. She earned 2 new team records of 57.55 for her 100 Fly and 2:10.44 for her 200 Fly – Congratulations!!!
-Roman Lewis swam the lead-off in the 200 Free Relay and it earned him a new Sectionals cut for the 50 Free.
-Clay Pilliard picked up a new Bonus time in the 200 Free.
-Raphael Realina opted to swim in 2 time trials and he earned a Sectionals time for his 100 Breast and a new Bonus time in the 200 IM.
-Henry Snider had all best times and returned to Finals in the 200 Breast. He picked up a new Sectionals cut in his 100 Breast and 2 new Bonus times for the 100 Free and 200 Free from his lead-off swims in relays.
-Jack Stanley returned to Finals in the 100 Back.
-Hannah Stewart returned to Finals in the 200 IM.
