Waves Swim Team

The Waves Swim Team has been swimming in the area since the late 1990's. The Waves started swimming at the High Blue Wellness Center in 2009. They have always participated in the Suburban Municipal Swim League or SMSL that swims every summer.

In 2010 the Waves began an off season routine. They started what is now the Swim Conditioning classes. Due to the teams year round diligence and hard work they climbed the ladder of success. For the first time in the team’s history they went undefeated and won the SMSL Championship in 2012. Through continued hard work they were able to repeat with back-to-back undefeated seasons for several more years and went on to win the SMSL Championship again in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 making them the first team to ever win the SMSL Championship trophy SIX years in a row!

In the Fall of 2013 they took the next step of the journey. They joined USA swimming and became a part of the Missouri Valley LSC.  For the short course 2016-2017 season, they had 57 swimmers of varying ages compete, with 37 qualifying for District Championships and 10 swimmers qualifying for the Missouri Valley LSC Short Course Championships.

The Waves are a family. The team has grown in numbers and strength due to the wonderful families that give a great deal of time volunteering. Every swimmer is important on the Waves. From the fastest to the slowest, the only concern that Coach Rob Brusick has is "Did You Improve?" As long as each individual swimmer continues to improve, the team will continue to advance and succeed.
