Sewell and Hiley Both Under 14-Year-Old Team Record Time on Day Two Of The Midwestern Championships

 

Tommy Sewell & Cater Hiley Both under 14-year-old Team Record in the 400 Freestyle

Lincoln, July 27, 2019 – Brownell Talbot Aquatic Team swimmers had another good day at the 2019 Midwestern Long Course Championships Saturday at the Woods Pool.

Tommy Sewell and Carter Hiley both broke Will Raynor’s 14-year-old Team Record in the 400 Freestyle (old record 5:2519). Tommy Sewell set the New Team Record with a 5:14.44 in Heat 1 to finish the race in 3rd Place. While his teammate Carter Hiley swam in heat 2 to a 5th Place overall finish with a 5:19.19 which was also well under the record time that stood for 14 years.

Day 2 Recap

Tommy Sewell, 12, 100 Freestyle 1:08.03 6th Place *PB by 6.14 seconds. 400 Freestyle 5:14.44 3rd Place *PB by 27.24 seconds and NEW TEAM RECORD.

Carter Hiley, 12, 100 Freestyle 1:08.87 9th Place *PB by 3.59 seconds. 50 Breaststroke 44.44 10th Place just off his personal best. 400 Freestyle 5:19.19 5th Place *PB by 15.92 and well under the Old Team Record.

Ingrid Nelson, 12, 200 IM 3:06.29 27th Place just off her personal best.

The Midwestern Championship concludes today.
