What is Swim-A-Thon?

Swim-A-ThonTM is a USA Swimming sponsored fundraiser in which all Aquatic Club of Elkhorn (ACE) members work together to raise money for a purpose by swimming lengths of the pool and securing donations from sponsors. Swimmers will have a two-hour period to swim a maximum of 200 lengths (almost 3 miles).

The exciting benefits of this program, the ACE Swim-A-Thon is not only an excellent fundraiser, but  the biggest, bestest and craziest event of the year.  Our regular practices on swim-a-thon night are replaced with one big wet, wild and fun partyAdditionally, our Swim-A-Thon can increase community awareness of our team and the sport of swimming.

Collecting Donations

1)  Online Donations are an easy way to obtain donation without writing a check. It’s a great way to reach out to out of town family members, friends, and business owners. To donate online:

  • Go to
  • 2019 ACE Swim-A-Thon
  • Click:“Please Help
  • Click:“Search for Participant
  • Select your swimmer to donate to so they receive credit for the donation!

2)  Paper Pledge Forms are perfect for those who prefer to submit individual checks. Swimmers ask for donations from friends, family, businesses, providers, neighbors, teachers, etc. Anyone willing to give can give! We have structured this fundraiser to be fun for all, so we are asking swimmers to flat dollar donations.  This will ease the pressure on the swimmers from worrying about how many laps they need to swim.

The Aquatic Club of Elkhorn (ACE) is a registered 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(2) non-profit organization.

Swim-A-Thon deductions are 100% tax deductible!

1)  How long do we have to raise money?

Start Now! Obtain pledges and donations from friends, family, and businesses. (Donations are a flat $ amount).

2)  How much money should we raise?

Each ACE swimmer is encouraged to raise at least $100. The average swimmer should be able to raise anywhere from 4-5 donations totaling $20 - $25 each. However, don't let the suggested minimum amount stop you from, setting a larger personal goal.

If our 173 swimmers raise at least $100 each then we will raise $17,300, which exceeds our goal! It is important that every team member participate and give their best effort to accomplish our goal. These donations significantly help our swim team to raise funds for the new racing block tops and, therefore, help your swimmer too.

Fundraise Outside the box!

It is great to ask your "usual" group of friends and family, but it's also good to think outside the box to generate additional funds for your team.

Ask your favorite local businesses to support our team's effort - either as a flat donation - or by agreeing to match the funds raised by your swimmer or your swimmer's group.

Many companies (like Union Pacific, First Data, Mutual of Omaha, Yahoo, Google, Aon, Morgan Stanley, Microsoft) provide matching gift programs that multiply their employees' charitable donations. If you or your spouse are employed by a matching gift company, your contribution to the 2019 ACE Swim-A-Thon could be significantly increased. To obtain a matching gift from your employer, contact your human resources department. Complete the donor/employee part of the form and send it to the ACE Club Manager. We will complete ACE’s portion of the form and return it to the company to initiate their fulfillment of the match.

Not sure if your company provides a matching gift program?  Contact your human resources department or search the Blackbaud Matching Gift database for information about participating matching gift companies.

3)  Does everyone have to participate?

Yes! This is our major fundraiser for our team outside of hosting swim meets. The goal is 100% participation.

4)  Where are the Swim-A-Thon Pledge Forms?

Online: The easiest way to collect donations is for your donors to make a donation online at our website

5)  When and where do we turn in the money?

Place all monies collected in the USA Swimming Pledge packet and bring to the Swim-A-Thon Table on your Swim-A-Thon day

6)  How can parents help?

There are plenty of opportunities to help with the Swim-A-Thon, and earn credit toward your MeetCREW volunteer hours. We will need people for set-up, clean-up, and to help run games and hand out prizes.  See the signup list on the website. (To be posted soon)

7)  How can my Swimmer earn Prizes?

Each swimmer will have the opportunity to seek donations individually to earn prizes. Individual prizes will be awarded at different levels. See the ACE Swim-A-Thon prize listing. (To be posted soon)
