Job Title: Assistant Coach Location: Papillion, NE FLSA Status: Part Time Travel: Swim meets as scheduled Reports to: SCSC Head Coach, Associate Head Coach, Group Lead Coach Position Overview Under the direction of the Head Coach, Associate Head Coach, Group Lead Coach, and in accordance with the goals and objectives of SCSC, the Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of the team’s seasonal training plans for their assigned group(s). Must be willing and available to travel to local and out of town meets and will have reliable transportation. We’re looking for someone who is passionate, enthusiastic and loves the sport of swimming and is driven to make an impact on our community. Responsibilities and Duties: 1. Provide a safe and quality competitive environment to train and motivate young athletes in the sport of swimming; instruct swimmers on swimming stroke techniques and assist with skill improvement as outlined and directed by Head Coach, Associate Head Coach or Group Lead Coach. 2.
Assist with planning, execution and supervision of daily workouts as assigned by the Group Lead Coach.
- Provide corrective feedback that will enhance swimmers’ techniques.
- Build meaningful relationships with swimmers, parents, volunteers, and board members
- Promote the mission of the Sarpy County Swim Club in all job-related functions.
- Give swimmers knowledge to understand and master strokes and techniques allowing for movement up through the swim team groups

- Maintain structure and discipline within a group setting, while encouraging and promoting swimmer participation in as positive manner.
- Supervises and takes group attendance through the OnDeck app.
- Conduct self in a professional, friendly, helpful, courteous and diplomatic manner.
- Follow and enforce SCSC policies and procedures.
- Help set up home swim meets as deemed necessary by the Head Coach, Associate Head Coach or Team Administrator.
- Attend any and all team meetings, get togethers, as deemed necessary by the Head Coach, Associate Head Coach or Team Administrator.
- Any additional tasks and/or duties as assigned by Head Coach, Associate Head Coach, Group Lead Coach and/or the Team Administrator.
AQUATIC CLUB OF ELKHORN Age Group Coach Position POSITION: The Aquatic Club of Elkhorn swim team (ACE), located in Omaha, Nebraska is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Part Time Age Group Coach. The candidate will work with our developmental and/ or competitive age group swimmers. The Aquatic Club of Elkhorn swim team (ACE) is a non-profit, board-run, year-round competitive swim team located in Omaha, NE with over 150 members. Our team consists of swimmers 6-18 years of age and group levels from novice to elite. We combine fun and hard work to produce long-term success for our athletes in and out of the pool. ACE strives to develop leaders with integrity, discipline and excellence for athletes, families, and coaches in the Midwest. - College Degree. (preferred)
- Current CPR, First Aid, Coaches Safety, Safe Sport certifications, and membership in good standing with USA Swimming.
- Be able to pass a pre-employment background check.
- Strong knowledge of stroke-mechanics, technique fundamentals, and training methods for developmental and competitive age group swimmers between the age of 6-14.
- Strong background in competitive swimming with a minimum of two years coaching experience.
- Candidates must possess integrity, strong communications skills; and a passion for helping swimmers maximize their potential.
- Experience with Team Unify and OnDeck. (preferred)
- Availability to work late afternoon and / or evening hours on weekdays, including extended weekend hours on meet weekends.
- US Citizen or employment visa to work in the USA.
Position Requirements & Responsibilities:
- Create, collaborate and implement appropriate seasonal plans in accordance with the Aquatic Club of Elkhorn’s training philosophy to further develop the potential of the swimmers of all levels to form a fluid progression plan.
- Write and direct structured age-appropriate workouts focusing on stroke development and technique implementing a variety of drills.
- Provide constructive feedback to swimmers at practices and following races at meets.
- Keep detailed and accurate records as needed including attendance, work-outs, and swimmer progression.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with all ages to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Arrival at practice and meets at minimum 15 min prior to arrival of athletes
- Require approximately 5 - 10 hours regularly per week.
- Attend swim meets, meetings, and team functions as assigned on the schedule.
- Assist with set up & tear down of all ACE hosted meets
- Must be patient, and an excellent role model for swimmers of all ages through appearance, language, demeanor and sportsmanship.
- Must adhere to all rules, regulations and policies of USA Swimming, Safe Sport, Midwestern Swimming and ACE.
- Substitute for other coaches as needed.
