**Please note this page designed for current Sailfish Aquatic members.  If you are new and would like to join Sailfish Aquatics please check information on the Team Assesment page.

Sailfish Aquatics has established reasonable group standards for each practice group.  This approach helps assure the athletes will training at the appropriate level, and continue to improve their technique while gaining endurance.  Before advancing to the next group, a child should learn new skills while improving on the foundation of existing ones.  The requirements are very simple and were created based on our team group’s description.  As coaches, we look at the will look at both stroke and IM events to review their progress.  Please understand that there is more to the timing of a group move than simply these guidelines.
A swimmers’ transition period usually begins after the short course season through the end of summer.  This will allow swimmers to have one-two years practicing with their current group and prepare for the next level.  We would like every swimmer to feel comfortable in their assigned group and enjoy practices.
If you feel that your swimmer needs improvements in any of the listed areas please contact your lead coach.  The coach who has worked with your child over the last year will explain and recommend the best options necessary for swimmers to reach their personal goals.
