Splash, Registration and Safe Sport

Wrapping up a long year

It has been a difficult year, but fortunately it seems those restraints are slowly lifting and turning back towards normal. Things are still a little too dynamic to communicate firm plans, swim meets are still not finalized until weeks and sometimes days prior to the event, but as we move closer to the new season, we can foresee a more traditional season plan and meet schedule. Thank you all for bearing with us, supporting the team and being our greatest assets. I know communication has been less than desirable, for that I apologize and promise to improve.

While we have faced challenges to the team over the last year, we are still financially sound and see a strong future for the club. As COVID restrictions are lifting, we have seen a number of new families interested for fall and even have had new members joining the team as we moved into summer. We have also launched a summer league program to provide sponsorships, recruit new members and partnering with the Y lessons program to pull kids to our feeder program.

Getting back towards normal

We have just been given clearance to have the Summer Splash meet at MCAC, and are also developing a meet plan for the upcoming short course season, season plans and being able to go back to a more traditional practice group progression as group practice number restrictions are lifted. We are excited for the new season, and getting back to planning in advance. We are looking forward to the new year! Team registration will be available on July 1st, Team suits will remain the same design.

After the Splash meet, we will be taking the month of August off, and will return to the pool September 7th.

2021-2022 Season Team registration will open July 1st. USA Swimming is requiring all families to have read their new Athlete Protection Policy, in addition to having practice group reviews of the policy this fall, we will also be making this requirement part of our registration. Here is a link to the updated MAAPP policy and the team's Safe Sport page for your review. Maintaining our Safe Sport recognition will become a requirement to be able to host meets this year. Please consider participating in a USAS Safe Sport webinar.

This year is also the team’s 10th Birthday! This fall, as part of our November meet will be a celebration of the team and what Coach Williams put together for us. More to come on this in the fall.

Again, thank you for your continued support of the team, the coaches and the kids.
