2/3/14- ECA's Patrick Edge in Carteret County's News-Times

West Swimmer, Coach Earn Honors Patrick Edge capped off his sophomore campaign by earning Coastal Conference Swimmer of the Year, as well as earning a spot in a  three-way tie for first-place individually in the boys meet. First-year West head coach Jeff Young also had reason to celebrate, earning the Conference Boys Coach of the Year award. Read more.

5/25/13- Olympian Inspires Youth

Olympic Gold Medalist and former GSC Swimmer Lauren Perdue spoke at South Greenville Elementary School to inspire the youth of her hometown. “Even though obstacles will come up in your life, you really just have to remember what your dreams are and work as hard as possible to get there.”

5/22/13- Locals Make National Splash

The Daily Reflector published a story byRonnie Woodward about the GSC Masters performance at the Masters National Championship.

Todd Torres and Joel Bullard, who after years of not swimming competitively are both excelling with the Greenville Swim Club masters program, competed at the U.S. Masters Spring National Championships in Indianapolis about a week ago. Read More.

GSC swimmer Elena Williamson was featured in an article in Monday's edition of the Daily Reflector. They were kind enough to allow us to post the article on our website. 6/6/12- WITN Features GSC's Emily Pfeiffer as Player of the Week

Emily Pfeiffer won the first swimming state title in Washington High School history by finishing the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:04.29. Less than one-hundredth of a second away from breaking the 3-A state record.

Pfeiffer Added two medals to her state title gold with a silver in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:05.29 and a bronze medal with teammates in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

Now Emily Pfeiffer can add WITN Player Of The Week to her growing resume.

4/05/12- WITN Features GSC's Jon Schwartz as Player of the week

Jon Schwartz is a swimmer at the Oakwood School in Greenville but he will soon have to make a choice on where to attend college.

But his choices will likely have less to do with athletics, and more to do with academics as the straight A student is a national merit scholarship finalist considering Dartmouth, Brown and the honors program at the University of North Carolina.
