Welcome!

We are pleased to have you join us for the 2021-2022 season! The Washington Satellite of the ECA is a thriving program that is a very important part of the overall success of the team.  Founded in 2001, the Washington Gators has produced several state championship qualifiers, as well as state champions, sectional champions, and team record holders.  The Team follows the structure of the Greenville site, with kids placed in practice groups based on age and ability.  Washington families enjoy a membership to the Moore Aquatic & Fitness Center at no additional cost.

Communication:
Communication is very important to the success of the team.  Our website is updated several times a week with new information, so check it often. We also communicate by e-mail.

Practice:

  • Swimmers should arrive 10 minutes before scheduled practice begins and should be picked up within five minutes of the completion of practice.

  • Thunder & lightning policy: The Moore Aquatic Center has a policy of clearing the pool at the sound of thunder or flash of lightning.  The pool does not reopen until 30 minutes after the last sound of thunder or flash of lightning. We will generally do dry-land activities in the classroom in the event of bad weather.

  • Swimmers are not required to come to every practice; however, the more they train, the better they will perform at meets.

  • If you need more assistance, please e-mail Coach Scott at [email protected] or call/text me at 252-945-8400.

  • If you are going to stay and watch practice, please do not interact with your child during the practice. Keeping the attention of the younger children is paramount to successful training.

  • Holidays- The Aquatic Center is a City run facility; therefore, it observes most holidays.  The pool is open in the mornings from 8-12 most holidays, but we do not usually have practice.  You will be notified of all cancellations ahead of time.

  • School cancellations: If Beaufort County Schools has cancelled school or after school activities due to bad weather, we will generally follow suit and cancel practice.  You will be notified of cancellations as soon as possible.

  • The Aquatic Center usually follows the City in closing during bad storms (snow, hurricanes, etc).  You will be notified of cancellations as soon as possible.

Behavior:

  • Unruly or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.  Swimmers disrupting practice may be removed from practice.

  • Swimmers are expected to be on task and to be respectful of the coaches and other swimmers.

Meets:

  • Meet attendance is strongly encouraged, but is not required.

  • Meets give the swimmer a sense of achievement while giving the coach a measurable result of training.

  • Meet dues vary from $20.00-$55.00 per meet. Cost is set based on meet entry fees, coaches’ travel and other associated costs.

  • Most meets are located within a 1 hour driving radius.

  • Transportation to the meets is the responsibility of the parent unless explicitly stated.
