Copper
Description:
- The Copper group is the first competitive training group offered by Swim GSA
- The focus is on fun, stroke technique, and the rules for all four competitive strokes
- Swimmers will learn the fundamentals of starts and turns in preparation for racing
- Swimmers have the opportunity to participate in the competitive meet schedule for the 12 & Under program
- Prior to enrollment, a member of the coaching staff must evaluate swimmers new to the competitive program
Pre-Requisites:
- Complete a 25 yard free & 25 yard back without assistance
Practice Times and Locations:
- Monday - Thursday 4 PM - 5 PM
- Location: Greensboro Aquatic Center unless stated otherwise
- There are no attendance requirements for this group
Bronze
Description:
- This group is for 8 and under
- The focus is on fun, refining stroke technique, starts, and turns
- Swimmers will compete in at least 2 meets a season
Pre-Requisites:
- Swim all four strokes
- Practice and meet evaluation will also be taken into account.
Practice Times and Locations:
- Monday - Thursday 4 PM - 5 PM
- Location: Greensboro Aquatic Center unless stated otherwise
- There are no attendance requirements for this group
Silver
Description:
- This group is for 8 and under
- The focus is on fun, refining stroke technique for all four competitive strokes
- Swimmers will learn strategies for starts and turns and racing preparation
- Swimmers will compete in the 12 & Under program
- Swimmers are expected to compete in a minimum of 2 swim meets per season
Pre-Requisites:
- Swim all four strokes
- Practice and meet evaluations will also be taken into consideration.
- 3 practices a week are required

- Monday - Thursday: 4 PM - 5 PM
- Location: Greensboro Aquatic Center unless stated otherwise
- There are no attendance requirements for this group
Gold Prep/Gold
Description:
Pre-requisites:
- Swim a continuous 500 freestyle
- Swim all four strokes
- Swimmers must have at least a BB cut in at least 4 events.
- Focus for this group is qualifying for age group champs.
- Practice and meet evaluations may also be taken into consideration
Practice Times and Locations:
- Monday - Thursday: 5PM - 7PM
- Friday: 4PM - 6PM
- Saturday: 7AM - 9AM
- Location: Greensboro Aquatic Center unless stated otherwise
Practice Attendance
- It is recommended that swimmers in these groups practice four times each week
- Swimmers are expected to compete in monthly swim meets with a focus on qualifying for end of the season state championship meets.
Platinum:
Description:
Pre-requisite: Swimmers in this group have successfully completed the Pre-Senior Group.
Practice Times and Locations:
- Morning Practice
- Monday & Wednesday: 5:30am - 7:30am

- Crossfit gym (this is SGSA coach run)

- Tuesday & Thursday: 5:30am - 7:30am

- Afternoon Practice
- Monday - Friday: 6:30am - 8:30am
Practice Attendance:
- It is recommended that swimmers in these groups practice a minimum of 6 practices offered.
- Swimmers are expected to compete in monthly swim meets with a focus on qualifying for end of the season championship meets.
Platinum Elite:
Description:
- Swimmers in this group have aspirations to compete at sectional and national level meets.
- Swimmers may be considering swimming in college and scholarship opportunities.
- Mental toughness, motivation, and perseverance will be tested in this group.
- The swimmer's development will be based on a group mentality/chemistry; seeking excellence in each aspect of training- strength, endurance, technique, speed, power, nutritional concerns, and psychology- both in the water and in dryland training.
Expectations:
- Swimmers are expected to attend all scheduled practices.
- Swimmers in this group will work toward goals individual goals.
