Stroke School

Love the water?    Meeting twice a week for six weeks, athletes in SMAC's Stroke School will have a blast learning drills and techniques meant to provide a better understanding of the four major strokes.  As they grow and will gain confidence in the water, athletes will have a blast learning and mastering basic swimming concepts and water safety skills.  Athletes receive report cards on their progress and get to experience all the fun and energy that comes with being a part of Smoky Mountain Aquatic Club. Fun and learning are the priority! Love to swim? SMAC's Stroke School is the place to be!

Class Schedule

Choose between two Class Schedule options.  Class sizes are limited to 6 swimmers per class.

  • Monday/Friday from 3:00 - 3:30 pm
  • Wednesday/Saturday: Wed 3:-3:30, Saturday 8-8:30 am. 

What To Bring

  • A bathing suit. Girls should wear a one-piece suit.  Guys should wear a jammer or trunks.
  • Goggles
  • A Towel 


  • $150 for the six-week Stroke School session.  Cash, credit card, or checks made out to SMAC are due the first day of class. 
  • A Waynesville Recreation Center membership or pass is required for participation in the Stroke School.  PAsses can be acquired at the front desk.  12 visit passes are $22 for swimmers ages 5-11 and are $35 for ages 12-17. The front desk handles all Waynesville Rec Center membership questions.
