Welcome to the STAR Aquatics Swim School Registration Page
(Please Note: For Star Aquatics swim team Registration Please Click on the annual registration button on the home screen)
This registration system will allow you to register your swimmer(s) for STAR Aquatics Private or Group Swim Lesson. We begin with water safety, body control and breathing and develop swimmers through basic kicking and propulsion exercises with a focus on developing comfortable and correct swimming habits.
Our goal for every swimmer in the STAR Swim School is to teach them a love of water and an understanding of how to be safe and have fun, whether their goals are to join the swim team or just to be able to enjoy some time in the pool. Lessons are open to students outside of Wesleyan Christian Academy as well.
Registration:
Daycare Lessons: Lessons run for a period of two (2) weeks on Tuesday and Thursday. If you are enrolled in Wesleyan's Early Education program we will pick your child up from their class and return them after the lesson.
After School Lessons: Lessons will be offered in two (2) week blocks on Monday and Wednesday for students at Wesleyan Christian Academy. Star instuctors will pick up the students and return them to after school care if needed.
Private Lessons: One on one lessons are another option we offer. These lessons do not have a specific time or day and will be scheduled after registration. Private lessons are offered in packages of two (2) or four (4) lessons.
Summer Daycare Lessons: In the summer we have a change in our lessons schedule. We will have four lessons over the course of one week to accomodate for travel and vacations. Lessons will be at 4:30 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
Summer Group Lessons: We also offer lessons to the campers at the Wesleyan Summer Camp. We will pick up students from their groups and take them back. You do not need to be in the Wesleyan Summer Camp to sign up.
Class Levels
Level 1:
This student is a beginner, probably a little nervous in the water. This student has little to no swimming experience. The goal of this class is to help the swimmer become more confident and relaxed in the water.
(Class goals: pool safety, confidence in the water, total body submersion, blowing bubbles, floating and flutter kick (All of this is done via assistance from the instructor))
Level 2:
This class is for the beginner swimmers who are comfortable in the water. These students are often fearless and need to learn how to safely play at the pool. These students know how to get in the water by themselves. This class will focus on the following skills: floating, kicking, breathing, big arms and treading. Students will also learn how to get themselves to the side of the pool.
(Class goals: pool safety, confidence, front and back float, kicking, big arm scoops, treading and swim independently to the side)
Level 3:
This student is comfortable in the water. They can swim with ease on their stomach 15 feet. This class will focus on combining kicking, arm pulls and body position to create a proper foundation for freestyle and back stroke.
(Class goals: pool safety confidence, endurance, breathing, proper technique for free and back stokes (possible introduction of Breaststroke and Butterfly Kicks))
