Jack Eichenlaub Head Age Group Coach

Jack was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA where he fell in love with the sport of swimming at the age of 13. He swam, coached and graduated from Bloomsburg University in 2014 with a degree in Organizational Communications. From there, Jack went on to serve as Graduate Assistant at Nova Southeastern University where he earned his masters in College Student Affairs.

For the last 10 years, Jack has passionately coached at the summer league, club, and collegiate levels including DI Miami (OH) and Florida Gulf Coast University. He’s also held positions as Head Summer League Coach, Head Site Coach, and most recently Lead Coach for the Aquatic Team of Mecklenburg (ATOM), responsible for the advanced 9-10s and Senior 2 practice groups.

Jana Clancey Head Development Coach

Despite growing up in the land-locked small town of Wooster, Ohio, Jana found her way to the water through a summer league program. She fell fast for the sport and her dedication took her from novice swimming to a NCAA title. Jana was all-state in prep swimming, held high school and college records, was a PSAC champion, and three-time All-American. She swam for both Clarion University (PA) and West Virginia University.

Once her career behind the blocks ended, she took to coaching, and has loved working with high school swimmers at both New Hanover and Hoggard, and continues as a summer league coach at Holly Tree Racquet Club.

Jana spent nearly a decade as a journalist, covering education and crime, and was a newspaper editor before getting her masters in 2009 to teach English. She has taught at middle and high schools in New Hanover County and at UNCW. Jana is the mother of three and carves out time for open water swimming, yoga, writing, tutoring and teaching, and volunteering with youth at her church.

Keri Lamontagne Assistant Coach

Keri was born and raised in New Hampshire and made the move down south to Wilmington in the fall of 2019. For as long as she can remember, she always loved to swim and would take any opportunity she got to be surrounded by water. She began swimming competitively for her local team when she was 13 and swam year-round through high school. She then continued to compete for her college’s division II swim team. As both a high school and college student, her summer job was always to teach children swim lessons.

Keri attended Assumption College in Massachusetts where she earned her BA in Mathematics and Education. She graduated as a licensed teacher and then went on to earn her MAT in Mathematics through Providence College. She has worked as an elementary school teacher and has also taught both middle school and high school math. While teaching in New Hampshire, she began a swim club for her middle school students. She enjoyed sharing her passion for the sport with them while she created a positive and motivating environment for the students to improve their stroke technique and become stronger swimmers.

Keri is currently working as a tutor. She works one-on-one with students across all grade levels in various subjects, but mainly math. She enjoys spending any free time outdoors and still loves to swim. She hopes to train for and compete in a triathlon sometime in the near future!
