Alicia is in her third year as Head Coach. As a swimmer, she swam Division III varsity for the University of Chicago from 2006-2010, and was captain of the team for two years, leading them to their highest place finish in their conference in team history.  She NCAA Qualified in the 200 Backstroke and received Honorable Mention as an Academic All-American. 

She started coaching swim lessons at the age of fourteen for the Ann Arbor Swim Club, and afterward was an assistant coach for the Green Bay YMCA for four years. She has done private lessons for swimmers ranging from triathletes, age group swimmers, state and national champions, and specializes in video analysis of strokes. She was the head coach for two high school girl teams in St. Louis for three years. 

Alicia's coaching strengths are helping athletes improve stroke efficiency and power. She loves helping swimmers acheive their goals.  She uses test sets to measure progress and show the swimmers how their hard work is paying off.

Alicia is married to Donnie (Philosophy Professor at the University of Mary) and has four children, Josie, on the Marlins, (7), Mara (5), Peter (3) and Andrew (1).

Grace Kuntz, Assistant Coach, Intermediate Group

From: Mandan, ND

Favorite Stroke: Backstroke

Favorite Swimmer: Missy Franklin

Grace swam for the Mandan Marlins for nine years and for Mandan High School. She has been coaching with the Mandan Marlins for three years. Grace's strengths are mid-distance events and backstroke.  Grace holds the Mandan Marlins record in the 200 Free, 100 Back, and 200 Back (all long course). 

Grace enjoys working with swimmers to improve their technique and watch as they become more competitive, drop time, and achieve new personal records.

Grace is currently attending BSC with a major in accounting.  Her hobbies are reading books and doing puzzles.

Katie Morris, Assistant Coach, Senior Group

Hometown: Baxter, MN 

Favorite Stroke: Freestyle

Favorite Swimmer: Simone Manuel

Katie was a three sport athlete in high-school: swimming, golf, and ice hockey. She swam on a Division II team at Minnesota State University in Moorhead. During college, she received the "Dragon Spirit Award" twice for the Swimming and Diving team and was a multiple-time Female Dragon Athlete of the Week. 

She has coached a variety of ages including high school at Brainerd High School and 6 years of Division II coaching at Minnesota State University at Moorhead. She has also coached sled hockey for the Hope Inc. Hurricanes in Moorhead, MN, and won two National titles. 

Katie's coaching strength is positivity! She has been formed by the Positive Coaching Alliance whose goal is "Redefining 'Winning' as Mastery of Sport, Filling Emotional Tanks and Honoring the Game. 

Katie enjoys working with swimmers to improve their mental toughness through mental prep for competition and helping student-athletes become the best teammates they can be. 

Outside of the pool, Katie works as a mental health counselor via telehealth services.

Caitlin Dukart, Assistant Coach, Developmental 1 and 2 Group

Hometown: Dickinson, ND

Favorite Swimmer: Adam Peaty or Katie Ledecky

 

Caitlin was born and raised in Dickinson and attended Dickinson High School until junior year, then attended Bismarck Century High School where she graduated in 2019. As a child, she was a runner, basketball, and hockey player before she decided to try something new. She swam for Dickinson High School and the Dickinson Dolphins for two years, then swam for Century and Aquastorm for a year and a half. She has taught all levels of swimming lessons for the last 3 years and is WSI certified. 

 

Caitlin's coaching strengths are a positive attitude and eye for detail in strokes. Caitlin enjoys working with swimmers to help them improve their form to prevent injuries, create relationships with her swimmers, and help them enjoy the sport of swimming. 

Caitlin is currently working as a para at Fort Lincoln Elementary in Mandan, and subbing occasionally as a lifeguard at the BSC Aquatic Center.

Linn Schroeder, Assistant Coach, Developmental 2 Group

Hometown: Mandan, ND

Favorite Swimmer: Katie Ledecky

Growing up, Linn swam for the Mandan Marlins, the Bismarck YMCA Golden Seals, and Mandan High School. After high school, she swam on​ scholarship for distance events for Minnesota State University. She started coaching for the Mankato Marlins during college and began coaching with Mandan High School in 2000. After a four year break from the pool, she returned to the MHS teams in 2019 and currently coaches both the girls and boys teams in addition to coaching for the Marlins! 

Linn's strengths are that she loves helping swimmers reach their goals whether their goal is to fix a stroke or improve times. As a Sports Nutrition Coach, she also enjoys working with athletes to optimize their sports nutrition.

Linn is currently working at Sanford Health as a Senior Clinical Informatics Analyst. She is also a Trainer & Nutrition coach for 1st Phorm. She is married with three boys: Grant, 21, Alex, 8, and William, 6. 

 

 

Brooklyn Leingang, Coach, Mini Marlins and Developmental 1

Hometown: Mandan, ND

Favorite Stroke: IM / Breaststroke 

Favorite Swimmer: Katie Ledecky

Brooklyn has been swimming competitively for seven years with the Mandan Marlins Swim Club, and coaching for two years. Brooklyn has also been teaching swim lessons for four years. She has swum with the Mandan Braves Swim and Dive team for five years and will be a captain in Fall 2022. 

Brooklyn’s strengths are working with younger kids and being able to start them off on the right track for technique. She enjoys boosting confidence by challenging young swimmers to be the best version of themselves.

Brooklyn is currently a Junior at Mandan High School. 

 

 

 

Korie Riely, Assistant Coach, Developmental 1 Group

Korie started coaching with the Marlins in Fall 2021. She has prior experience in coaching a couple seasons with the Dickinson Dolphins. She grew up swimming for the Dickinson Dolphins in Dickinson, ND.

Korie's strengths are engaging everyone in her group and making practice a fun place to be. 

Korie currently is a college sophomore studying physical therapy and swims for the University of Mary. Go Marauders! Go Marlins!

Natalie started coaching wth the Marlins in Fall 2020. She grew up swimming for the Marlins and for Mandan High School and was a captain her senior year. 

Natalie is currently a Senior at Mandan High School.
