BGSC Swim Meet Recap

Amazing Anglerfish --

It's official - your exceptional swimmers are no longer New England's best kept secret. We had an impressive weekend at the BGSC Classic Specialty meet at Seekonk High School. While competing against larger and more established teams, including Crimson and Gaters, our swimmers dominated the meet, delighted fans and even charmed Gator’s own charismatic announcer. You can watch the entire meet  here.

Some highlights - our 12 & under boys, Avery and Johnny, took first and second place in the 200 freestyle. And Gabe finished third and Moises finished fifth. Our boys went on to win the 50 fly, 100 back, 200 fly, 100 breast, 50 back, 200 IM, 50 free, 100 fly, 200 back, 50 breast, 100 free and 200 breast. Avery, Johnny and Gabe won multiple individual races. In fact, we had a first place finish in every event. Moises also had a phenomenal weekend placing in the top fifteen in every race he swam. The successes continued in the afternoon session. Across the meet, Anglerfish posted best times.
For more meet results, check out  meet mobile, an app that you can download on your phone.  (Everyone should download this app!, which allows you to search swim meets from all over the region in real time. You can also track your swimmer's performance, over a season and years, and see how your swimmer is doing in a national and regional context. The app also allows you to assess the competitiveness of Anglerfish's program and progress.)

We hope you will join us in making another big splash this Saturday at Narragansett Town beach for open water training. Details will be sent shortly. Amayah, Avery, David, Moises, and McKenna, who each had incredible performances this weekend, have been attending most if not all cross training opportunities, including attending double sessions Saturday. Their hard work is paying off!
This is a community that is building a culture of excellence.

Congratulations to all of our athletes, and families again and see you oceanside Saturday!
