BAT is a year-round USA Swimming club team based out of Belmont High School (BHS), where we have trained for nearly 40 years.  BAT swimmers hail from Belmont, Watertown, Arlington, Cambridge, Somerville, Lexington, and other surrounding towns.

With a strong BAT base, alumni have gone to reach the highest levels of the sport on the National stage.

Due to construction at BHS, we train out of various facilities in Cambridge, Watertown, and Waltham until Fall 2021. But no matter where we train, our aim is to always be a little better than the day before.

It starts with how we think.

BAT is a coach-run team, governed by a Board of Directors comprised of parent volunteers.

We welcome all swimmers.

BAT provides a vigorous eleven-month program of detailed technical work and in-depth training to swimmers at different levels of ability and commitment. The team encourages both the cellist in the Middle School orchestra who also loves to swim and wants to keep improving her times AND the swimmer who would like to train eight plus times a week with aspirations of competing for an NCAA Division 1 school.

We focus on quality over quantity--balancing the fundamentals of stroke technique and aerobic conditioning in order to achieve optimal strength and endurance. With proper mechanics, nutrition, and recovery injury is entirely preventable.

Most importantly, at BAT, we put the FUN in fundamentals.

The Board meets monthly and welcomes attendance and input from all team parents. Additionally, various committees are made up of parent volunteers. The involvement of parents of all the team members is crucial to the success of the team.
