Coaching Staff
Alessandro Eramo Head Coach

Coach Alessandro joined the BYB coaching staff in the fall of 2021. Alessandro has been coaching since 2011, most recently with the YMCA of the North Shore Sharks. At YNS, Alessandro was the Associate Head Coach of the team, leading both the Marblehead site and over 200 age group swimmers across six locations. Prior to being named the Associate Head Coach, Alessandro had many roles in the YNS organization including being the Head Age Group Coach and Haverhill Lead Site Coach.

Alessandro coaches with energy, passion, and a deep knowledge of competitive swimming. His philosophy in coaching is to develop well-rounded individuals through the sport of competitive swimming by using the core values of the YMCA to teach hard work, commitment, and sportsmanship. Alessandro’s goals with BYB include developing a competitive and well-rounded program with a strong team culture of athletes who love their team and swimming FAST!

Prior to becoming a coach, Alessandro swam for YNS from 2003-2013. Alessandro graduated from Hamilton Wenham Regional High School in 2012 and went on to study at Merrimack College, where he graduated with a B.A. in Human Development in 2015.

Jessica Higgins Assistant Coach

Coach Jess joined the BYB coaching staff in the spring of 2021. Previously, Jess coached at YNS from 2016-2021 at multiple locations including Beverly, Salem, and Marblehead. Coach Jess has worked with every age group, including novice level to National level athletes.

Competitive Swimming Background: Coach Jess swam at the YMCA of the North Shore through her age group career that spanned 8 years before starting swimming collegiately at Regis College. During her 4 years at Regis she specialized in backstroke and was team captain her final 2 years. Jess was also named student athlete of the year twice, holding multiple team records and a finalist at the ECAC championship meet.

Education: Bachelors in Public Health

Additional Background Info: Currently works at Lahey hospital.

Chris Falk Assistant Coach

Chris has been coaching with the Bluefins since 2019.  He began competitive swimming at age 12.  His senior year, he was captain of his high school team - the team was undefeated for 4 years.  Along the way, Chris set a school record in the 100 Back and was part of a state record 200 Medley Relay.  He swam Division 1 at University of Maine for a year before transferring to Northeastern University.

Chris graduated from Northeastern with a degree in Behavioral Neuroscience and has an M.S. in Medical Sciences from Boston University.  He currently works in Boston as Product Manager for a technology company in the clinical trials industry.  Chris lives in Wilmington with his wife Sarah (who is a much better swimmer than he is) and their 3 children. All three of his children swim for BYB.
