WPI Crimson Aquatics Met Wrap up
The Sailfish recently visited the WPI pool and took advantage of this excellent facility to do some fast swimming.
This meet was not scored so I will list PRs and top 12 finishes here.
Our littlest Sailfish, the 8 & unders, had a good meet! In this group, we had Chloe Adler, Azar Emerson, Adele Green, Addison Larochelle and Moriah Longval swimming for us. Chloe took home a 1st and two 2nd place finishes and a PR with some nice swims. Way to go Chloe! Azar grabbed 2nd in the 100 breast. Nice going Azar! Adele was 3 for 3 with PRs and an 8th place finish in the 50 fly, where she dropped over 16 seconds! Way to go Adele! Addison took home 1st place honors in the 100 breast and was 2 for 2 with PRs as well. Nice work Addison! Moriah had a PR in her 50 back. Nice going Moriah!
Chocorua Longval was our lone 9-10 swimmer but she did us proud, finishing in the top 10 in all 4 of her events with 2 PRs. Way to go Chocorua!
The 11-12 group was just Maisie Emerson but, like Chocorua, Maisie did a good job with her swims. She got PRs in all 4 of her events, taking over 12 seconds off her 200 IM time. She also grabbed 12th in the 50 breast. Nice work Maisie!
Our 13 & over crowd was Tim Dodd, Megan Gerardi, Lauren Green, Grace Howe, Lily Peterson and Thanida & Xindi Thomas. Tim swim to a huge PR in his 100 free (over 48 seconds!) but to be clear, it’s been a few seasons since he last swim that event! We’ll have to put an asterisk by this one for Tim. He also posted a PR in his 100 back. Way to go Tim! Megan had a PR in her 100 breast and took home 11th place in the 100 IM. Nice work Megan! Lauren had a pretty good day in the pool, putting up 4 for 4 PRs, and a 10th place finish in the 100 IM with an 18 +second drop in that event. Way to go Lauren! Grace grabbed 7th in the 200 breast and put up a PR in her 200 IM. Nice going Grace! Lily posted PRs in 2 of her events and was 4th in the 100 IM, 5th in the 100 breast and 6th in the 200 breast. Good job Lily! Thanida finished 6th in the 100 breast, 7th in the 200 breast with a nice time improvement in the event. She also PRed her 50 free and 100 free. Way to go Thanida! Xindi had a good weekend in the pool, breaking the 30 second barrier for the 1st time on Sunday, she also PRed all her other events! Congrats to Xindi!
So it looks like the biggest loser for this meet was Lauren Green with her 18.60 second drop in the 100 IM. Congrats to Lauren!
Nice going to all of the Sailfish swimmers who swim at WPI. It was a good weekend in the pool for all of you!
