EDGE SWIM CLUB EXCELS AT 11-14 AGE GROUP CHAMPIONSHIPS

EDGE swimmers Jack French, Marin Hemmett, Brady Morigeau, Annaliese Moylan, and Harry Sander had a great weekend at 11-14 New England Age Group Championships at Worcester Polytech Institute. All five athletes qualified to swim at Finals! It was Jack, Brady, and Annaliese’s first trials/finals and Age Group experience and no one let the pressure get to them!

Jack French made five finals appearances after just returning to the water after battling pneumonia! He placed Top 10 in New England with a 10th place finish in the 200 Back. Jack competed in the B final of the 100 Breast, 100 Back, 50 Breast, and 200 Breast. A fun fact is that Jack finished 15th overall in all of his Breaststroke swims.

Marin Hemmett absolutely demolished her 100 Breast best time, qualified for B finals, and finished 21 seeds higher than her prelims seed place!

Brady Morigeau, who is only in his second year of competitive swim team crushed his 200 Free best time and finished 15th in Finals! We are so proud of Brady for how far he has come and so excited to see how he progresses. Brady left after prelims on Saturday to compete in a ski race in Middlebury. Way to be a phenomenal multisport athlete, Brady!

Annaliese Moylan made four finals appearances. Annaliese placed Top 10 in New England with a 7th place finish in the 200 Back with an 8.5 second time drop to get a 2:17.82! Annaliese competed in the B final of the 50 Back, 100 Back, and 100 IM.

Harry Sanders made four finals appearances. Harry placed Top 10 in New England with an 8th place finish in the 50 Free. Harry also competed in the B final of the 200 Free, 200 Back, and 100 Free. Harry had to swim the 100 Free two times Sunday night in finals after the starter messed up. Harry was mentally tough and took an extra second off his prelims time to take a total of 2 seconds off!

We are so proud of how well these athletes performed with the different meet format, trials/finals, and a three-day meet is a whole other ball game but they stayed mentally tough and had great mindsets all weekend. We are even more proud of how well they supported each other, they cheered for each other for every race and had so much fun together. We are also very proud of how supportive they were of their friends on other teams and it was so fun to see them cheer for them, too!
