GMA Long Course Season START on Tuesday 5/4/21

Laura Matuszak

Dear GMA swimmers, parents and coaches,

We are so excited to return to full GMA training and competition for the long course season on May 4th!  Our mission at GMA is “to provide every athlete with a safe, healthy and positive competitive program for technique, training, commitment, development and personal excellence.”  We have endured great change and many challenges in the last 14 months.  The GMA coaches look forward to the long course season, the return to regular competition and the opportunity to train together as a team to reach our goals!

At GMA, we TRAIN our GOALS each and every day.  We prepare to race at our very best.  This preparation requires consistent focus, effort and intensity in training.  THANK YOU  for your commitment to our GMA training through this difficult time.  We are hopeful that this long course season will bring our GMA team closer together.  We are focused on staying united as a team, training toward our goals.  Our long course season will include indoor training in Saint Albans, Berlin and at the Delta Hotel for the month of May and (likely) half of the month of June.  Then, we will transition to training together at one or two pools in Chittenden County.  We are working on various options and we are confident that we will be swimming close to home no later than June 21st.  We can’t wait to be united in the water SOON!

We are thrilled to announce our tentative meet schedule that includes long course meets!  Here is a link to our GMA Team Google Calendar: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0/[email protected]&ctz=America/New_York&pli=1  We begin our racing at UVAC on May 22 and 23 and we are planning to race at the Jenny Thompson Pool in Dover, New Hampshire twice in June and twice in July.  We are preparing for New England, Eastern Zone and USA Swimming championship meets in late July and early August.  We are confident that we can help our athletes prepare to race their best while keeping our team, our families and our communities healthy and safe! We are pumped to get back to our GMA way of training and racing for personal excellence this season!

As we get started with the long course season, we have lots of dates and reminders to share!
