Megan Brown national swimmer for Greenwood has committed and signed a swimming scholarship to Florida State University. Megan will join the hundreds of Greenwood swimmers over the years that have signed a swimming scholarship. We are all so proud of you Megan. GO GREENWOOD!!

Greenwood swimmers had an amazing year with 21 swimmers recording top 6 times ranking and four swimmers attaining New England Outstanding swimmers awards based on a point system to determine the 3 highest ranked swimmers in each age group. Also several swimmers had a number one ranking in their event . Coach Don Lemieux has been added to the Board of Directors Of the International Swim Coaches Association.

Our team will compete in the Worcester County league starting in September. All swimmers are welcome to sign up for meets but our main focus will be in the 14 and under age group. We had particiapted in this league from 1980- around 2005 and we have decided to to go back into the league. Greenwood Swimming was well represented at the 14 and Under Championships. Chloe Song won the 200 free at the New England championships and Sam Folger was champion in the 200 Fly and 50 Fly and 14 year old Sean Lannigan was NE Champion in the 100 Backstroke. Sam Folger also finished in 5th overal points. Both of these swimmers along with Vivian Weng will represent New England Swimming at Zone Championships in Virginia. The Greenwood girls put on quite a performance at the recent Florida Gold Coast Championships in Coral Springs, Florida. The girls finished 2nd out of 41 teams with 563 points. Megan Brown finished 2nd overal points and was champion in the 400IM, 200FLY, 200BK. Also finishing 4th in total points was Alex Tulacz and Emily Parillo 5th. Several swimmers swam lifetime best with Rachel Whitaker swimming lifetime best in all 8 events.
