Protein shakes and proper use are explained to our swimmers during nutrition educational components which are held throughout the year.  Carbohydrates are the fuel for training and protein sources help in recovery, repair and building of muscle tissue.

Coach Kiely has extensive experience in nutrition for athletes and overall health.  LSSC also offers referrals to local professional nutritionists, upon request from club members.

Coach Kiely chose P2Life for supplimenting his three sons nutrition needs during and after hard training.  He also uses P2Life 'Nutriboost' for his own nutrition needs as a USMS masters swimmer.  P2Life is a product provider who consistently tests to have no banned ingredients or fillers. Guiding swimmers towards safe, healthy, balanced fueling for developing & elite athletes is a component of the LSSC training program.

LSSC has offered P2LIfe since 2011.  It has to be sold directly through a distributor. 

For fast post workout recovery consider pairing a carbohydrate snack with a 'NutriBoost' shake with 'Power Boost' drink after hard training.  It may also be used as a quick meal prior to training with a serving of good pre-training carbohydrates.  

During hard training weeks adding a shake with water only 40 minutes prior to bed can also aid muscle recovery.
