Swim-a-thon 2023

As we head into the spring, we are excited to bring back a big fundraising opportunity for everyone on the team to enjoy! We will be bringing back and running our team swim-a-thon on Saturday, May 13th. This event is for the entire family! 

Athletes will raise money in support of the team’s goal of $20,000. This money will be used for scholarship opportunities including help towards team travel and dues for those in need, meet support and a graduating senior scholarship. As well as strengthening this fund, other money will also go towards purchasing new training gear and pool equipment for athletes. This fundraiser not only helps our team and athletes, but the highest earning teams in USA Swimming also are eligible for prizes and acknowledgement by the governing body! The portion of money that we give back to USA Swimming will go towards helping fund learn to swim programs across the country.

How it works:

The pool will be open and ready for athletes to hop in and swim as many laps as they can beginning at 11:00 AM. Families can come to support their athlete and take part in other activities on land including a cookout and field games. We will have fun activities for all ages to enjoy, including getting back at your coaches for some of those workouts by dunking them or pieing them in the face. We will have some day of raffles and prizes. Also the awards and prizes for the top earning athletes!

Athletes can raise donations in a lump sum or “by the lap” which can be determined after the swim. Athletes also have the option to not swim the laps and just raise money. All donations and payments will be easily made on the website so you can share with your family and friends. We will open up the portal on April 1st and it will run until the day of the event (05/13/23). 

All money earned will go towards the families annual team fundraising commitments. The fun part about this fundraiser is that there are incentives for the top 5 earning athletes, as well as for the top selling parent and athlete of each group (Pre-Team, Intro, Age Group, Junior, Senior, Senior Elite and National). Prizes can be found below:

• 1st place - Speedo tech suit of athletes choice (or choice of other prizes)*

• 2nd place - $300 Gift Card of athletes choice*

• 3rd place - Speedo Apparel of athletes choice (sweatshirt, jacket, pants, shorts or bag) (up to $200)*

• 4th place - $100 gift card of choice 

• 5th place - $50 gift card of choice

*Top 3 selling athlete prizes - Athletes must raise a minimum of $250 to be eligible for 1-3 prizes.

• Top 5 earning athletes also get to Pie their choice of coach in the face!

• Top earning athlete of each roster group gets to be a coach for the day and write their groups workout!

• Parent of Top Selling Athlete - Bundle gift of a bottle of wine, team credit and restaurant gift card.

For anyone that is not interested in taking part, that is okay! We have pushed the date we will be charging fundraising commitments to June 1st so we can ensure everyone has a chance to take part.
