• It all started in the early 50s with the competitive team at the Westfield YMCA -  The team became successful and won Western Mass titles as early as 1955!

  • The Late Jean Cole (the current competition pool is named after Coach Cole) took over in the mid-60s the team called the "Whips" and sported green & white as their team colors.   They practiced and competed in the 20 yard, 4-lane pool which still is in use for swim lessons today!

  • The 80s saw The Late Joan Fox take the helm of the "Whips" which later became the Westfield Wave.

  • 2005 Coach Jamie Bloom started her 10+ year tenure as the Head Coach of the Wave.
